Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Shape the future of developer productivity at a fast-growing, remote-first company by owning the end-to-end developer experience—from the first line of code a new hire writes to the moment a seasoned engineer ships a major feature. You will be the single-threaded owner of every touchpoint that makes our engineers faster, happier, and more creative.
- • Lead the charge on AI enablement across the entire software development lifecycle. You will evaluate, pilot, and roll out cutting-edge AI-powered tools (code-generation, test-writing, review-assist, documentation bots, etc.) while partnering with Security, Legal, and Compliance to ensure every deployment is safe, ethical, and aligned with company policies. Your evangelism will turn skeptics into power-users and power-users into champions.
- • Build and continuously refine a world-class technical onboarding program that compresses ramp-up time from weeks to days. You’ll design interactive tutorials, sample repositories, and automated checklists; run live workshops; and embed yourself in new-hire teams for pair-programming and real-time feedback. The result: every engineer, regardless of background, feels productive and valued on day one.
- • Own the reliability, performance, and usability of the entire developer toolchain—IDE extensions, code-review workflows, CI/CD pipelines, testing harnesses, and observability dashboards. You’ll instrument metrics (lead time, change failure rate, developer satisfaction) and turn data into actionable improvements that unblock teams and delight users.
- • Establish and enforce pragmatic code-quality standards that scale. You’ll configure linters, static-analysis suites, and coverage reporters; embed rules directly into AI agents and review bots; and coach teams on balanced approaches that catch defects early without stifling velocity or creativity.
- • Serve as the bridge between engineering, product, and operations. You’ll translate developer pain points into prioritized backlog items, negotiate trade-offs with TPMs and PMs, and ensure the SDLC evolves in lockstep with business goals and customer needs.
- • Foster a culture of experimentation and continuous learning. You’ll run internal hack-days, lunch-and-learns, and guild meetings; maintain a living knowledge base; and mentor engineers at all levels on modern development practices, AI literacy, and career growth.
- • Stay ahead of the curve. You’ll monitor the rapidly changing AI landscape, prototype emerging tools, and publish internal briefs that help leadership make informed build-vs-buy decisions. Your curiosity will keep the company at the forefront of responsible AI adoption.
- • Champion developer advocacy at the executive level. You’ll present quarterly DX reports to the CTO and VPs, quantify ROI of tooling investments, and secure budget for next-generation initiatives that keep our talent engaged and our platform competitive.
- • Write code every week. This is a hands-on role: you’ll ship internal CLI tools, IDE extensions, GitHub Actions, and Slack bots that solve real problems for your peers. Your craftsmanship sets the bar for quality and inspires others to raise theirs.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years focused on developer experience, platform engineering, or tooling.
- • Proven track record of introducing AI-powered developer tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, CodeWhisperer, custom LLM agents) in production environments while meeting security and compliance standards.
- • Expert-level proficiency in at least one modern language (TypeScript, Go, Python, or Java) and deep familiarity with cloud-native CI/CD, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code.
- • Demonstrated ability to define and measure developer productivity metrics (DORA, SPACE, or similar frameworks) and translate insights into concrete improvements.
- • Strong communication and teaching skills—comfortable creating documentation, running workshops, and mentoring engineers across all levels.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote-first culture with flexible hours and an annual stipend for home-office setup and co-working memberships.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and mental-wellness coverage for you and your dependents, plus a yearly learning and wellness allowance.
- • Generous equity package, 401(k) with company match, and an annual performance bonus tied to both company and individual success.
- • 20 days PTO, 12 company holidays, and a “recharge week” each summer when the entire company powers down.
