- • As a Principal Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our data infrastructure and analytics capabilities. This is a unique opportunity to lead the design, development, and implementation of our data warehouse and analytics platform, ensuring it is robust, scalable, and capable of supporting our ambitious growth trajectory. Beyond data, you will be instrumental in elevating the engineering standards across our entire technology stack, encompassing applications, platform services, and underlying infrastructure. Your contributions will directly impact the performance, reliability, and innovation of Level AI's core offerings.
- • You will be a key technical leader, actively collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product management, data science, and fellow engineers. This collaborative spirit is essential for developing highly scalable and performant systems that can handle the immense volume and complexity of customer interaction data. Your role will involve deep dives into complex technical challenges, translating them into simple, elegant, and effective engineering solutions. We are looking for someone who can not only solve today's problems but also anticipate and architect for the challenges of tomorrow.
- • A significant aspect of this role involves mentorship and technical leadership. You will be expected to coach and mentor junior engineers, fostering their technical growth and helping them develop best-in-class engineering skills. Driving the adoption of engineering best practices, from code quality and testing to architectural design and deployment strategies, will be a core responsibility. Your influence will extend to promoting a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence throughout the engineering organization.
- • Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- • Leading the architectural design and development of our next-generation data warehouse and analytics platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- • Designing and implementing robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from diverse sources into the data warehouse.
- • Developing and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models to support business intelligence, reporting, and advanced analytics use cases.
- • Building and maintaining data infrastructure components, leveraging cloud-native services and technologies.
- • Collaborating closely with product managers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and actionable engineering plans.
- • Mentoring and guiding junior engineers, providing technical direction, code reviews, and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
- • Championing and implementing engineering best practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and observability.
- • Evaluating and integrating new technologies and tools to enhance our data platform's capabilities and efficiency.
- • Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues across the data stack, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- • Contributing to the overall technical strategy and roadmap of the engineering team.
- • Designing and implementing data governance and security measures to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- • Working with real-time data streams and processing frameworks to enable near real-time analytics.
- • Optimizing data storage and query performance to reduce costs and improve user experience.
- • Developing and maintaining APIs for data access and integration with other internal and external systems.
- • Staying abreast of the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and data engineering, and identifying opportunities to apply them at Level AI.
- • This role requires a deep understanding of data warehousing principles, distributed systems, and modern data engineering practices. You will be empowered to make significant technical decisions and drive impactful projects that directly contribute to Level AI's success in the rapidly evolving customer engagement landscape. We are looking for a proactive, results-oriented individual with a passion for building high-quality, scalable data solutions.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience in designing and implementing complex data warehouse schemas (e.g., star, snowflake) with a strong understanding of fact/dimension tables, normalization, and denormalization.
- • Expertise with cloud-based data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Azure Synapse Analytics.
- • Strong proficiency in SQL for complex querying, performance tuning, and data manipulation, coupled with robust programming skills in Python or Java for data pipeline development.
- • Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools and workflow orchestration frameworks like Apache Airflow, dbt, Apache NiFi, or similar.
- • Familiarity with real-time data integration technologies such as Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, AWS Glue, Fivetran, or Stitch, and experience with API-based data aggregation.
