📋 Description
- • Lead the design and development of ML infrastructure, tooling, and models that enable product teams to build AI-powered features for 30,000+ healthcare practices
- • Build internal platforms and external products that seamlessly integrate AI into customer-facing applications, ensuring scalability and reliability
- • Translate product goals into actionable engineering plans for data integration, event processing, and AI-driven feature delivery
- • Consult with engineering and product teams on common machine learning patterns, tradeoffs, and the end-to-end data lifecycle
- • Coach and collaborate with Staff and Senior Engineers across the Messaging Fellowship to elevate technical standards and foster architectural excellence
- • Write high-quality, performant, sustainable, and testable code in a cloud-native environment, adhering to best practices for distributed systems
- • Monitor emerging trends in GenAI and MLOps, cutting through hype to identify and advocate for strategically valuable technological advances
- • Shape company-wide standards for engineering excellence, observability, reliability, and system design in distributed architectures
- • Drive cross-team technical initiatives that deliver measurable business outcomes through alignment with product objectives
- • Design and operate scalable data infrastructure using relational databases (PostgreSQL at scale, Vitess, Spanner) and NoSQL systems (Bigtable, Redis)
- • Implement and manage cloud-native infrastructure on GCP or AWS, including Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, and highly available system designs
- • Apply deep expertise in modern ML techniques including LLMs, RAG, Prompt Engineering, Fine Tuning, LLM evaluations, and multi-modal models
- • Advise on the development of low-latency, high-accuracy AI agents for customer-facing applications in production
- • Ensure technical designs comply with regulatory requirements in healthcare environments, navigating compliance with data privacy and security standards
- • Mentor technical leaders across teams through design reviews, documentation standards, and hands-on guidance to build organizational capability that persists beyond individual contributions
- • Influence without direct authority, building consensus across organizational boundaries and translating complex technical tradeoffs into clear business terms
- • Contribute to industry thought leadership through open source projects, conference speaking, or published technical writing
- • Maintain a conviction-driven yet open approach to technical discussions, embracing better ideas while advocating for robust, scalable solutions
- • Operate as a technical cornerstone bridging sophisticated machine learning research with practical, scalable product implementations in a B2B healthcare communication environment
🎯 Requirements
- • 12+ years of software engineering experience with progressive technical leadership scope
- • Demonstrable experience building and deploying ML-driven B2B multi-tenant applications in production at scale for external customers
- • 8+ years of experience in Machine Learning or AI, preferably with a focus on natural language
- • Expertise in modern ML tools and techniques including LLMs, RAG, Prompt Engineering, Fine Tuning, LLM evaluations, and multi-modal models
- • Deep expertise in distributed systems architecture handling hundreds of millions of transactions and terabytes of data
- • Operational experience with cloud-native infrastructure on GCP or AWS, including Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code
