📋 Description

• As a Principal Mobile Engineer at TaxWell, Inc., you will own the TaxAct mobile experience across iOS and Android, serving as the primary technical owner for mobile strategy and execution in a high-impact individual contributor role that directly shapes how millions of Americans access tax advantages through mobile technology.
• Day to day, you will architect, design, deliver, and evolve the mobile platform—including authentication, biometrics, secure storage, notifications, deep linking, performance, device integrations, and app store distribution—while leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve speed, quality, and effectiveness without compromising security or reliability.
• You will partner closely with engineering, product, design, security, and platform teams to define the balance between native and web-based experiences, drive platform quality, and modernize the mobile stack where appropriate, all while operating independently to identify opportunities and solve complex technical problems.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in mobile architecture and AI-augmented engineering, influence cross-functional technical decisions, mentor through leadership by example, and help establish adoption standards for emerging AI-powered tools while ensuring production-grade outcomes in a regulated, customer-focused environment.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with significant production experience building, shipping, and operating mobile applications across iOS and Android
• Significant production experience with Flutter and Dart, plus strong understanding of iOS/Android platform capabilities including authentication, biometrics, secure storage, notifications, deep linking, and device APIs
• Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering effectiveness, with ability to review and validate AI-generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability
