Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end architecture of ThreeV’s Multi-Sensory Asset Intelligence Platform (MSAIP) as it scales from prototype to petabyte-scale production, ensuring every design choice supports sub-second inference on utility-grade imagery, LiDAR, and sensor streams.
- • Architect and maintain fault-tolerant, low-latency data pipelines that ingest from Kafka, edge sensors, SAP, GIS, and legacy SCADA systems, transforming heterogeneous data into a unified Delta Lake that powers both real-time dashboards and batch analytics.
- • Write, review, and merge production-grade Python and multi-language code daily, enforcing rigorous linting, type-checking, and test coverage while mentoring engineers through detailed PR feedback and pair-programming sessions.
- • Design cloud-native micro-services on AWS (primary) and Azure (secondary) using Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform, implementing blue-green and canary deployments that achieve 99.9 % uptime for mission-critical utility clients.
- • Lead the build-vs-buy evaluation for open-source and commercial tooling—choosing, customizing, and contributing back to projects like Airflow, Databricks, and Delta Lake to accelerate roadmap delivery without compromising long-term maintainability.
- • Rapidly prototype new product concepts in 1-2 week sprints, scaffolding modular subsystems that can be promoted to full services once validated by customers, thereby reducing time-to-value for new AI-driven inspection workflows.
- • Establish and evangelize coding standards, design patterns, and messaging patterns across a globally distributed engineering team, creating living documentation and automated guardrails that keep velocity high as headcount grows.
- • Partner with product, data science, and customer success to translate field feedback into technical requirements, often joining customer calls to understand how wildfire-risk models or vegetation encroachment alerts are used in real substations.
- • Build SDKs and APIs that abstract complex CV and LLM workflows into simple, secure interfaces for enterprise developers, ensuring backward compatibility and graceful deprecation strategies.
- • Automate everything—CI/CD, infrastructure provisioning, data quality checks, and cost governance—so the team can ship features daily while keeping cloud spend predictable for budget-conscious utilities.
- • Champion a culture of observability by instrumenting services with OpenTelemetry, setting SLOs, and running blameless post-mortems that turn outages into systemic improvements.
- • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers across US and APAC time zones, running architecture guilds and brown-bag sessions that level-up the entire organization on topics like vector databases, GPU scheduling, and multi-cloud networking.
- • Collaborate with UX designers to ensure that internal tooling and customer portals are not only functional but delightful, reducing the training burden on retiring utility workforces.
- • Travel up to 10 % for key customer workshops and quarterly off-sites in Los Angeles, presenting technical roadmaps and gathering on-site feedback from linemen and asset managers.
- • Contribute to the company’s technical brand by speaking at meetups, publishing blog posts, and releasing open-source components that showcase ThreeV’s leadership in AI for critical infrastructure.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of hands-on software engineering, including staff-level or architect roles shipping cloud-native products at scale.
- • Expert-level proficiency in Python and production experience with AWS (mandatory) plus working knowledge of Azure.
- • Proven track record designing data pipelines using Kafka, Airflow, Delta Lake, and Databricks for both streaming and batch workloads.
- • Deep understanding of Kubernetes, containerization, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
- • Demonstrated ability to design low-latency, high-throughput systems with auto-scaling, load balancing, and multi-region failover.
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related STEM field; Master’s preferred.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Remote-first culture with flexible hours and the option to work from anywhere, plus quarterly in-person off-sites in Los Angeles.
- • Competitive early-stage equity package alongside market-leading salary and performance bonuses.
- • Annual learning stipend and dedicated 10 % time for open-source contributions, conferences, or advanced coursework.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and mental-wellness coverage for you and dependents.
- • 20 days PTO plus company-wide recharge weeks and flexible parental leave.
