• This is a hands-on leadership position, demanding a blend of deep technical expertise, strategic product vision, and exceptional collaborative problem-solving skills. You will be instrumental in shaping our engineering strategy, while actively contributing to the design and delivery of scalable, resilient platforms across major cloud providers including AWS, Azure, and GCP. Your work will directly impact the performance, cost-efficiency, and data management capabilities for our enterprise clients.
• You will lead the architecture and seamless delivery of secure, highly scalable microservices within a sophisticated multi-cloud, containerized ecosystem. This involves not just designing but also implementing robust solutions leveraging modern technologies such as Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, and Kafka, ensuring our platforms meet the highest standards of security and performance.
• A key aspect of this role is championing and implementing best practices in software development, including Domain-Driven Design (DDD), clean architecture principles, and event-driven paradigms. You will be a guiding force for the engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence through rigorous code reviews, insightful design sessions, and active participation in architecture governance.
• Your leadership will extend to mentoring team members, cultivating an environment of continuous learning, and promoting collaborative delivery. You will define, uphold, and evangelize engineering best practices, encompassing comprehensive documentation, robust testing strategies, proactive observability, and seamless CI/CD integration. This ensures consistency and quality across all our development efforts.
• Collaboration is central to this role. You will work closely with Product Management, DevOps, and Security teams to effectively translate complex business needs into reliable, secure, and scalable technical solutions. This cross-functional partnership is crucial for delivering value to our clients.
• You will drive significant advancements in infrastructure automation and deployment consistency, utilizing tools like Kubernetes and Git-based workflows. This focus on automation streamlines our development and deployment processes, enhancing efficiency and reducing operational overhead.
• A critical responsibility includes engaging in performance tuning, deep-level debugging, and effective incident resolution across the entire technology stack. Your ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues swiftly will be vital in maintaining the high availability and performance of our platforms.
• Furthermore, you will contribute significantly to platform-wide strategic decisions, including data modeling, API design, and the long-term architectural evolution of our systems. Your insights will shape the future direction of Aker Systems' technology offerings.

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years of deep, hands-on expertise in Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, and modern service-oriented architecture.
• Strong understanding and practical experience with Kafka, event-driven patterns, and asynchronous communication.
• Proven experience designing, scaling, and operating cloud-native platforms, preferably in AWS or Azure.
• Solid experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes), coupled with a strong grasp of infrastructure automation.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in complex delivery environments, with a clear ability to align teams around a shared technical vision and drive execution.
