đź“‹ Description
- • As a Principal Software Engineer focused on XTM Integration at Filigran SAS, you will be instrumental in shaping the technical direction and engineering excellence of our critical integration framework. This role is pivotal in ensuring our open-source solutions, including OpenCTI, OpenAEV, and OpenGRC, seamlessly connect with the wider cybersecurity ecosystem, empowering over 6,000 organizations worldwide.
- • You will define and champion the technical vision for the XTM Integration team. This encompasses establishing robust architecture patterns, setting high code quality standards, selecting appropriate tooling, refining CI/CD practices, integrating AI-assisted development workflows, and implementing effective benchmarking approaches. Your leadership will ensure these principles are not just documented but actively understood, embraced, and consistently applied by the team through comprehensive documentation, thorough code reviews, collaborative pairing sessions, and by setting exemplary examples.
- • A core responsibility is to drive the continuous evolution of our shared connector/integration framework. Your efforts will focus on making it significantly easier, faster, and more reliable for developers, both internal and external, to build high-quality integrations. This involves making critical technical decisions regarding integration architecture, including the design of data flows, sophisticated error handling mechanisms, resilient retry strategies, comprehensive observability, optimal performance tuning, and stringent security measures.
- • You will be at the forefront of exploring and evaluating new technologies. Your role involves staying ahead of industry trends, proactively assessing new tools, libraries, and architectural patterns, and identifying opportunities to leverage them before they become immediate team needs, ensuring Filigran remains innovative.
- • As a technical steward of Filigran's open-source integration ecosystem, you will ensure that the connector framework and all published integrations serve as exemplary models for external contributors. You will define and enforce clear contribution guidelines, stringent code standards, and effective documentation practices that empower community members to develop and contribute their own connectors with ease.
- • Engaging actively with the open-source community is crucial. This includes meticulously reviewing external contributions, providing constructive technical guidance, and publicly representing Filigran's engineering culture and commitment to open collaboration. You will also play a key role in designing integration APIs and SDKs, prioritizing the external developer experience through clarity, simplicity, and extensibility as first-class design concerns.
- • You will be an active participant in the XTM Foundation, contributing as a full member to cross-product engineering principles, shared tooling decisions, and technical standards that span OpenCTI, OpenAEV, and OpenGRC. Your role involves bringing the integration team's unique perspective to Foundation discussions and effectively communicating Foundation decisions back to the integration team, fostering coherence across the entire XTM engineering organization.
- • This is a hands-on engineering role. You will write production code, leading by example rather than from a distance. You will prototype and validate novel approaches, ensuring their feasibility and effectiveness before wider rollout. You will conduct in-depth reviews of critical pull requests, providing feedback that is both corrective and educational. Furthermore, you will contribute to the development of performance benchmarking and observability tooling specifically for the integration layer.
- • You will collaborate closely with the XTM Integration engineering team, the broader XTM Foundation (including Principal and Staff Engineers across all XTM products), Product Managers, and external open-source community contributors. Reporting directly to the VP of Technology, you will operate primarily embedded within the XTM Integration team while regularly participating in XTM Foundation cross-team initiatives.
- • The XTM Integration team is the backbone connecting the XTM Suite to the external world, responsible for a diverse range of connectors and integrations. This includes OpenCTI connectors for data import, export, enrichment, and streaming, feeding intelligence into security tools like SIEM, EDR, and SOAR. It also encompasses OpenAEV collectors and injectors for automated attack simulations and OpenGRC connectors for integrating governance, risk, and compliance workflows with external data sources.
- • The XTM Foundation, as Filigran's cross-product engineering team, is dedicated to elevating the technical standard across the entire XTM Suite. It tackles challenges that transcend individual product teams, focusing on shared architecture, inter-product communication, common UI components, CI/CD infrastructure, test quality, developer experience, and AI-assisted development. Foundation engineers act as force multipliers, bringing deep expertise, evaluating new technologies, and enabling over 60 engineers to build better software more efficiently.
