📋 Description

• As a Principal Software ML Test Engineer at d-Matrix Corporation, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of the company’s next-generation AI compute engine, directly enabling the deployment of cutting-edge generative AI technologies. Your leadership in test planning, automation, and execution will be critical to productizing hardware-software innovations that push the boundaries of AI inference efficiency.
• You will lead and mentor junior team members within the Software Qualification team, driving the design, development, and execution of comprehensive test suites that validate software and system use cases across deployment scenarios for d-Matrix’s AI chip software stack, ensuring robustness and readiness for production.
• Day to day, you will implement and enhance Python-based test workloads and ML model testing using the Pytest framework, focusing on deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Transformers, while integrating with CI/CD pipelines via Jenkins and GitLab to enable continuous testing and regression validation.
• You will collaborate closely with software development, product, and systems teams to define test coverage, analyze test results, triage software bugs, and debug failures, ensuring end-to-end validation of AI workloads including ML kernels, MLIR, LLVM, matrix multiplications, and NumPy-based operations at scale.
• You will continuously improve the d-Matrix end-to-end and regression test infrastructures, advocating for best practices in test automation, data structure optimization, and algorithmic efficiency in Python, while fostering a culture of ownership, technical excellence, and knowledge sharing.

🎯 Requirements

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 10+ years of industry experience in software testing, validation, or development.
• Strong grasp of large language models and machine learning fundamentals, including model architecture, training, and inference workflows.
• Proficient in Python development, including advanced data structures, algorithms, and Linux-based environments, with proven experience in test automation using Pytest.
• Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Transformers, particularly in the context of testing and validating ML models and workloads.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior engineers, with a strong sense of ownership, self-motivation, and teamwork in fast-paced, startup-oriented settings.
