📋 Description
- • As the Product Design Lead at Ben Technologies Inc., you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our innovative benefits platform. This is a pivotal, hands-on role where you will not only lead the design function but also deeply engage in the strategic direction and execution of our product.
- • You will collaborate closely with the Head of Product to define and articulate the product UX strategy and vision. This involves envisioning how Ben looks, feels, and functions, ensuring a cohesive and exceptional user experience as the company scales, particularly into the enterprise space.
- • A core responsibility will be to own complex problem spaces from the initial stages of discovery through to the final shipped product. This requires a clear and strategic approach to scope definition, risk assessment, and sequencing of development efforts to ensure efficient and effective delivery.
- • You will be responsible for designing shippable solutions, encompassing user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and production-ready UI designs. A critical aspect of this is meticulous attention to detail, including handling various states, edge cases, and the intricate workflows required for enterprise-grade applications.
- • The role involves designing for a blend of AI-powered product experiences and traditional workflows. You will be at the forefront of exploring and integrating AI capabilities into our product offerings, ensuring Ben remains innovative and competitive.
- • A significant part of your mission will be to build and evolve our design process. This includes defining how design work is briefed, how discovery phases are conducted, how solutions are validated, and how the team can accelerate the delivery of high-quality products.
- • You will be a key driver in adopting and leveraging AI tooling within the design workflow. This involves actively exploring and implementing tools such as Figma AI, Cursor, or other AI-powered prototyping assistants to enhance efficiency, creativity, and overall ways of working.
- • As a leader, you will provide team leadership, focusing on coaching, delivering constructive feedback, and fostering the professional growth and skill development of the design team, which currently consists of one direct report.
- • You will be the primary owner of customer and user insights, ensuring that feedback and learnings from user research are systematically collected, analyzed, and integrated into the product development roadmap.
- • Maintaining and scaling our design system is crucial. You will ensure it remains robust, consistent, and efficient, supporting rapid product growth and maintaining a high standard of design quality across the platform.
- • You will represent the design function in critical business meetings, including Pitch and Greenlight sessions, providing expert input to help the wider business make informed and strategic product decisions.

🎯 Requirements
- • Extensive experience in building and designing complex B2B SaaS products, ideally within a start-up or scale-up environment.
- • A strong portfolio showcasing shipped product work, demonstrating your end-to-end involvement from vision and validation to delivery.
- • Proven experience leading design initiatives from discovery through to shipped product, with a clear understanding of risk mitigation strategies.
- • Demonstrated ability to build and develop design processes within a scaling team context.
- • A track record of successful collaboration with Product and Engineering teams to shape product scope, sequencing, and overall outcomes.
- • Deep experience in designing enterprise-grade workflows, with a keen eye for detail, states, edge cases, and simplifying complex user journeys.
- • Evidence of coaching and developing designers while maintaining a hands-on approach to design execution.
- • Strong command of UX and UI fundamentals, including layout, typography, interaction design, and information architecture.
- • Genuine curiosity and practical exploration of AI tooling within design, with a vision for how it can enhance workflows and product development.
- • Fluency in Figma and experience contributing to or owning design systems.
