📋 Description

• As a Product Design Manager at Monarch Money Inc., you will lead and scale the design organization during a pivotal growth phase, reporting directly to the Head of Design to ensure the product maintains exceptional usability, clarity, and craft as development velocity increases. This role is critical in transforming Monarch’s vision of simplifying personal finance into a cohesive, user-centered experience that empowers members to achieve financial confidence.
• You will lead and grow the design team through strategic hiring, mentorship, and day-to-day management, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning while aligning designer growth with company objectives and product roadmap demands.
• You will allocate design resources across product initiatives, ensuring teams are focused on the highest-impact work by balancing short-term delivery with long-term design quality and innovation.
• You will partner closely with product and engineering leadership to shape product direction, embedding strong design thinking throughout the development lifecycle to ensure solutions are both technically feasible and deeply user-centric.
• You will establish scalable design operations and planning processes, including quarterly resource planning, cross-team coordination, and design system governance to maintain consistency and efficiency as the team expands.
• You will introduce and operationalize AI-powered tools across research, ideation, and prototyping workflows, enabling the design team to move faster without sacrificing depth or creativity, and positioning Monarch at the forefront of AI-augmented design practices.
• You will contribute to building a design organization that reflects Monarch’s values of empathy, clarity, and craftsmanship, helping to evolve the product into a trusted, beloved financial companion for users nationwide.
• You will gain leadership experience in a high-growth, product-led B2C/SaaS environment, refining your ability to balance strategic vision with tactical execution while influencing product outcomes at the intersection of design, technology, and business.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in product design, with 2+ years managing or leading designers
• Strong product design judgment with a high bar for usability, clarity, and craft
• Experience hiring, mentoring, and growing designers
• Hands-on experience designing and shipping complex digital products (web and/or mobile)
• Comfort adopting and experimenting with AI tools to improve design workflows and productivity
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working closely with product and engineering teams
