- • As a Product Designer at OpenRouter Inc., you will play a pivotal role in shaping how developers discover, evaluate, and integrate large language models (LLMs) through a unified API platform. Your work will directly impact the usability and accessibility of cutting-edge AI tools, making complex model orchestration intuitive for technical users across industries.
- • You will design and refine core product experiences including user dashboards, model discovery interfaces, analytics dashboards, API onboarding flows, playgrounds, and documentation—ensuring clarity and efficiency in high-complexity, data-rich environments. Simultaneously, you’ll shape marketing and brand touchpoints such as landing pages, email templates, and growth experiment surfaces, maintaining a cohesive visual identity that reflects OpenRouter’s innovative position in the AI infrastructure space.
- • Operating within a fast-moving, low-process, AI-first culture, you’ll collaborate closely with engineers to prototype, iterate, and ship features rapidly—leveraging AI-assisted design tools and code-adjacent workflows to move from concept to production-quality output with minimal friction. Your contributions will extend beyond execution to influence product and growth strategy through tangible prototypes and shipped work.
- • You will help evolve and maintain OpenRouter’s design system, creating reusable patterns for technical interfaces, data visualizations, and marketing surfaces, ensuring consistency and scalability as the platform expands. This role offers the opportunity to deepen your expertise in designing for developer tools and AI-native products while advancing your fluency in the intersection of design, engineering, and emerging AI technologies.
- • Over time, you’ll gain ownership over end-to-end product experiences, sharpen your ability to simplify complex systems through thoughtful UX and visual design, and build a portfolio of high-impact work that demonstrates mastery in balancing craft, usability, and technical feasibility in ambiguous, fast-evolving domains.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3–8+ years of product design experience with a strong portfolio of shipped work
- • Experience designing complex or technical products such as developer tools, SaaS platforms, or data-heavy applications
- • Comfortable reading and understanding frontend code, PRs, and engineering workflows; able to collaborate directly with engineers on implementation details
