đź“‹ Description
- • As a Product Designer II at Valon Technologies, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of mortgage servicing by designing intuitive, user-centered experiences for homeowners and servicing professionals on ValonOS, the company’s AI-native operating system for regulated finance. Your work will directly contribute to transforming a traditionally low-margin, complex industry into a high-efficiency, trust-driven sector by simplifying workflows and enhancing decision-making through thoughtful design.
- • You will lead end-to-end design for a core mortgage servicing product area, guiding projects from initial discovery and research through prototyping, usability testing, launch, and post-launch iteration. This includes translating complex regulatory and operational requirements into elegant, accessible interfaces that serve both consumer and professional users.
- • You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and cross-functional stakeholders in an agile environment to ensure alignment on user needs, technical feasibility, and business goals, advocating for design excellence throughout the product development lifecycle.
- • You will contribute to product strategy by leveraging qualitative and quantitative user research to uncover insights, identify pain points, and recommend design solutions that balance user empathy with business impact and long-term scalability.
- • You will foster a culture of design craft and collaboration by providing constructive feedback to peers, participating in design critiques, and continuously raising the bar for quality, consistency, and innovation across the design system and product experiences.
- • You will operate with a startup mindset—embracing ambiguity, moving quickly with intention, and adapting to evolving priorities while maintaining a strong focus on detail, usability, and the broader mission of rebuilding trust in the mortgage industry.
- • Through this role, you will deepen your expertise in designing for regulated, B2B2C environments, gain experience influencing product direction at a high-growth Series C company, and have the opportunity to mentor others and advocate for the integration of AI-augmented design tools in the workflow.
🎯 Requirements
- • 2+ years of product design experience, with preference for backgrounds in consumer design, operational tools, or B2B SaaS environments.
- • A strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design, systems thinking, and the ability to ship end-to-end product experiences from concept to launch and iteration.
- • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, clarify complex problems, and translate research and regulatory constraints into intuitive, scalable design solutions.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary with meaningful equity stake and access to a 401k plan, with leveling based on experience and interview performance.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits to support physical and mental well-being.
- • Generous time off including flexible PTO, sick days, 11 company holidays, and 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave for all birthing and non-birthing parents.
- • Commuter benefits via pre-tax deductions for public transit, rideshare, and parking, plus quarterly team outing budgets for activities like cooking classes or team dinners.
- • Ongoing learning and development opportunities, including company-wide onboarding, regular review cycles with 360 feedback, and resources to grow professionally.
