📋 Description

• As a Product Designer Intern-to-Hire at Sleeper Technologies, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of a rapidly growing sports fan platform that connects over 10 million users worldwide through games, scores, chat, and social features—your designs will directly impact how fans engage with their favorite sports and each other.
• You will design intuitive, high-fidelity user experiences across iOS, Android, Web, and Tablet platforms, collaborating closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate ideas into pixel-perfect mockups and prototypes that are ready for implementation.
• You will actively participate in design ideation sessions, critiques, and feedback loops with senior designers, gaining mentorship while contributing your own perspectives to elevate the quality and innovation of Sleeper’s product offerings.
• You will take ownership of specific design execution tasks, including creating and refining components within Sleeper’s design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and adherence to UX, interaction, and visual design fundamentals.
• You will contribute to the evolution of Sleeper’s design system by proposing improvements, documenting patterns, and helping maintain a cohesive visual language that supports rapid, high-quality product development across teams.
• You will engage in cross-functional collaboration with engineers and product managers to understand technical constraints and business goals, ensuring your designs are not only beautiful but also feasible, accessible, and aligned with product strategy.
• You will join a small, passionate design team that values both craft and camaraderie—participating in team-building activities like trying new sports or playing games together for ‘research,’ and attending annual design workshops to stay inspired and sharp.
• You will benefit from a structured 12-week internship program designed to ramp you up from onboarding to leading a capstone project, with successful completion granting priority consideration for full-time conversion upon graduation in Summer 2026 or earlier.
• You will grow your skills in real-world product design within a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where your work has tangible impact—learning how to balance creativity with usability, iterate based on feedback, and champion user-centered design in a product that brings people together over sports.

🎯 Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in HCI, web/media design, human-centered design, UI/UX design, or a related field, with a graduation date of Summer 2026 or earlier.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating foundational skills in UX, interaction, and visual design, including process work that shows problem-solving, iteration, and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams with Product, Engineering, and Business partners in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
• Passion for learning and growing as a designer, even if you don’t yet know everything about product design—curiosity and a growth mindset are essential.
• Familiarity with or strong passion for fantasy sports, daily fantasy, sports betting, football, or basketball is a plus, as it helps you empathize with our user base.

• Hourly compensation range of $20 to $32 USD for the 12-week internship, with potential for adjustment and negotiation upon full-time conversion.
• Hybrid work model: 2 days in-office in SF Bay Area or Seattle, with remote eligibility for candidates in California (non-SF), Washington (non-Seattle), Oregon, or those able to work PST hours.
