  • • Sitemate is seeking a dynamic and versatile Product Designer/Owner to join our innovative team, based in either our Sydney or Melbourne office. This is a full-time, hybrid role that offers a unique opportunity to take end-to-end ownership of product outcomes, blending deep UX/UI design expertise with robust product ownership and delivery management capabilities. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our products, working within small, high-trust teams alongside talented engineers.
  • • As a Product Designer/Owner at Sitemate, your responsibilities will span the entire product lifecycle. This includes conceptualization, user experience exploration, detailed design, requirement definition, delivery planning, and crucially, ensuring the performance and success of features once they are live in production. We believe in an integrated approach where design, product strategy, and delivery are not siloed disciplines but are unified within a single, impactful role. This philosophy is driven by our conviction that in an increasingly AI-accelerated world, the most effective product teams are led by individuals who can master all three facets.
  • • Your day-to-day will involve a stimulating mix of activities. You will prepare high-level concept designs for internal review and customer validation, and conduct customer research as needed to inform your decisions. A significant part of your role will be translating insights into tangible solutions by preparing detailed UX flows and high-fidelity UI designs, alongside creating essential information architecture (IA) diagrams. You will also be responsible for defining and meticulously reviewing feature scope and acceptance criteria, ensuring clarity and alignment across the team.
  • • Collaboration with engineering is paramount. You will work closely with engineers and your peers to plan, prioritize, and execute the delivery of features. This includes actively reviewing completed engineering work to ensure it meets the defined standards and requirements. Beyond delivery, you will embrace production ownership by monitoring the performance of released features, reporting on key usage metrics, and proactively identifying and raising UX gaps, quality issues, and edge cases that may arise.
  • • Furthermore, you will play a vital role in monitoring production support issues, triaging them effectively, and collaborating with relevant teams to ensure timely resolutions. Maintaining regular, clear communication with product and design leadership is essential, as is the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly in writing through platforms like Slack, Confluence, and Jira.
  • • This role is designed for individuals who thrive on breadth of ownership and are energized by the prospect of owning product outcomes from inception to post-launch success. It is ideal for designers who desire deeper accountability and delivery ownership, and for product thinkers who are comfortable navigating the spectrum from UX design to scoping and execution. If you are an individual who is invigorated by a fast-paced environment and the satisfaction of shipping impactful products frequently, this role will be an excellent fit.
  • • Conversely, this role is not suited for individuals who prefer to focus solely on design without engagement in delivery or product ownership, or for those who are more comfortable handing off work rather than seeing it through to production with a sense of accountability for the outcome. It is also not for those who seek clearly separated roles and prefer to avoid cross-functional accountability. We operate at a high velocity, requiring individuals who are excited to learn quickly and ship frequently, rather than waiting for ideal conditions. Owning the outcome, not just the output, is a core tenet; if a feature ships with unclear UX, missed edge cases, or bugs traceable to insufficient scoping, it is your responsibility to own and resolve these issues. Production support and triage are integral parts of the job, not distractions, ensuring the quality and performance of our products post-release. We foster a strong culture built on core values and standard operating procedures, which may require adapting from previous experiences.
  • • At Sitemate, we are committed to fostering a culture of transparency, high velocity, hustle, diversity, and innovation. We openly share our metrics and challenges, driven by an obsession with improving how the world's most critical industries operate. Our environment is flexible, fast-moving, and outcome-driven, designed to empower you to do your best work. You will be part of a team that takes immense pride in their work, cares deeply about results, and believes that a great culture is built on trust, respect, and continuous learning. We offer competitive, performance-based remuneration, equity options, comprehensive leave entitlements, a professional growth budget, and flexible work arrangements, including remote or hybrid options and the ability to work from anywhere for short periods each year. We also prioritize community and connection through weekly team lunches, global offsites, and our unique "Life Story" sessions.
