📋 Description

• Design end-to-end user experiences for AI product surfaces, from concept to shipped product, focusing on proactive AI assistants that handle multi-step reasoning and real-world task completion.
• Create novel interaction patterns for human-AI workflows, including prompting, review, confirmation, correction, handoff, and recovery, addressing gaps in existing UX patterns for proactive AI systems.
• Design interfaces that clearly communicate the AI’s current state: what it is doing, what it knows, what it is unsure about, and what will happen next, ensuring users maintain control and understanding.
• Transform complex, multi-step AI capabilities into intuitive, controllable, and usable flows that function reliably in everyday user contexts.
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and machine learning teams to define problems, validate assumptions, test ideas, and ship features rapidly.
• Produce wireframes, user flows, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for both web and mobile platforms.
• Conduct lightweight user research and usability tests to identify friction points, trust issues, and failure modes in AI-driven interactions.
• Help define, document, and evolve reusable HCI design patterns as the product and design system mature over time.
• Focus on usability, edge case handling, and failure recovery to ensure reliability in non-deterministic AI behavior environments.
• Advocate for transparency, feedback, and user control in every design decision, ensuring users can understand, guide, and correct AI actions at every stage.
• Work in a fast-moving, high-talent-density team that values independent execution, collective decision-making, and rapid iteration between shipping and learning.
• Translate ambiguous or undefined product requirements into clear, user-centered solutions through strong judgment and structured thinking.
• Build and refine a design system that scales with the product’s complexity while maintaining consistency in human-AI interaction patterns across platforms.
• Ensure all designs prioritize user trust, clarity, and agency in AI-driven workflows where systems act autonomously across tools and contexts.
• Communicate design rationale clearly to cross-functional stakeholders to align product direction with user needs and technical constraints.
• Participate in the full product lifecycle, from early concept exploration to post-launch iteration based on user feedback and system performance.
• Contribute to shaping the future of HCI for AI assistants by pioneering interaction models that go beyond traditional UI paradigms.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience as a product designer or UX designer with a portfolio showcasing web or mobile products
• Strong skills in interaction design, information hierarchy, and prototyping
• Proficiency in Figma and fast iteration workflows
• Ability to simplify complex systems and turn unclear AI behavior into clear user experiences
• Experience working closely with product managers and engineers in fast-moving teams
• Comfort working with ambiguity and shaping solutions before requirements are fully defined
