- • Build Clay’s new verticals playbook to expand beyond the core B2B SaaS customer base into high-potential industries such as financial services and real estate.
- • Develop vertical-specific positioning, messaging, and use cases that translate Clay’s AI-powered capabilities into language and outcomes relevant to each target industry.
- • Communicate ROI in customer-centric terms by aligning Clay’s value proposition with the real business outcomes that decision-makers in each vertical prioritize.
- • Collaborate closely with the Partnerships and Sales teams to package Clay’s offerings for portfolio companies and direct prospects in target verticals.
- • Bring learnings from new verticals back into Clay’s core sales motion by translating insights into top-of-funnel programs and reusable assets for the broader Sales team.
- • Prioritize verticals based on leverage potential rather than broad coverage, moving quickly from one high-impact vertical to the next.
- • Create repeatable, scalable frameworks and templates instead of bespoke solutions tailored to individual firms or customers.
- • Surface product gaps identified through vertical-specific customer feedback to the Executive Product Development (EPD) team and partner with Product to prioritize and close them.
- • Integrate AI tools—including Clay itself—to automate routine tasks, enhance efficiency, and elevate the quality and speed of marketing outputs.
- • Design compelling visual assets such as one-pagers, slide decks, and go-to-market collateral that clearly articulate positioning and drive adoption across sales channels.
- • Demonstrate commercial acumen by rapidly understanding GTM dynamics, buyer journeys, and competitive landscapes in non-tech verticals.
- • Leverage deep customer insights to inform product-market fit and ensure Clay’s expansion into new verticals is grounded in real market needs.
- • Work autonomously with minimal supervision while maintaining alignment with the Head of Product Marketing and cross-functional stakeholders.
- • Maintain a creative, iterative approach to marketing that reflects Clay’s culture of experimentation and non-attached action.
- • Engage with Clay’s community of 11,000+ customers, 150+ integration partners, and 30k Slack members to gather grassroots feedback and validate assumptions.
- • Contribute to Clay’s operating principles by applying negative maintenance and non-attached action to marketing initiatives, focusing on impact over perfection.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of professional experience, with 3+ years in product marketing
- • Demonstrated 0 → 1 experience standing up a new industry, business unit, or persona
- • Strong positioning and messaging craft, with the ability to communicate ROI in language the customer cares about
- • Strong visual design craft — ability to tell a story visually in slides and ship a great one-pager
- • Commercial acumen — ability to prioritize work that matters and quickly understand how GTM works in different verticals
- • Nice-to-have: Background in banking, private equity, consulting, or growth/finance
