- • As a Product Research Scientist in Drug Discovery at SandboxAQ, you will bridge cutting-edge scientific research and scalable product development, translating ML and computational chemistry innovations into production-ready AI-driven solutions that accelerate drug discovery for global impact.
- • Day to day, you will partner with ML and computational chemistry researchers to convert scientific prototypes into robust software, implement and integrate core algorithms (including deep learning and physics-based simulations) into scalable platforms, collaborate in multidisciplinary pods to define architecture and deployment strategies, ensure scientific integrity of models in production, and drive the full product lifecycle from inception to external deployment.
- • You will join a global, tech-focused team at SandboxAQ — a high-growth company spun out of Alphabet in 2022 — that applies Large Quantitative Models (LQMs) to solve grand challenges in life sciences, finance, cybersecurity, and beyond, backed by leading investors and a braintrust of industry experts.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in translating scientific research into real-world products, gain experience in end-to-end AI/ML deployment for scientific applications, strengthen cross-functional collaboration skills, and contribute to breakthroughs in AI-augmented drug discovery while advancing your career in a mission-driven, innovative environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • PhD in chemistry, biology, or a related discipline
- • 3-5 years of relevant experience in product-focused engineering or applied science, translating ML or computational chemistry research into production software (biotech/pharma preferred)
- • Experience deploying and maintaining machine learning models for scientific applications (e.g., molecular property prediction, multi-objective optimization)
- • Proficiency with Python toolkits for scientific computing (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy) and machine learning (scikit-learn, PyTorch)
- • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams to communicate technical solutions accessibly
