📋 Description

• Architect and deliver high-impact automation solutions using Python as your primary language, while strategically blending internal AI platforms and traditional RPA tools to achieve 98 % accuracy and weeks-to-value for global insurance carriers and brokers.
• Own the full lifecycle of automation projects—from discovery workshops with Fortune 500 clients through production deployment—translating complex business requirements into elegant, scalable Python code that integrates seamlessly with legacy core systems, cloud services, and third-party APIs.
• Design reusable automation components and micro-services that become the building blocks of Roots’ as-a-service offerings, ensuring every line of code you write accelerates future implementations and multiplies team velocity across the portfolio.
• Collaborate daily with AI/ML researchers, data scientists, and product managers to embed state-of-the-art LLMs, GPT variants, and multimodal models into production pipelines, turning cutting-edge research into bullet-proof features that underwriters and claims adjusters trust with billion-dollar decisions.
• Build and maintain robust REST and SOAP integrations that connect our platform to policy-administration systems, CRMs, and external data providers, guaranteeing real-time data flow, end-to-end traceability, and sub-second response times even under peak load.
• Engage directly with client stakeholders—from VPs of Operations to frontline analysts—to map intricate insurance workflows, identify automation opportunities, and co-create roadmaps that deliver measurable ROI within weeks, not months.
• Champion clean-code practices, comprehensive unit and integration testing, and continuous deployment pipelines that allow the team to ship daily with confidence, while mentoring junior developers through pair programming, design reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Stay ahead of the curve by experimenting with emerging Python libraries, cloud-native patterns, and AI breakthroughs, then rapidly de-risk and productize the most promising innovations for our 3 of the Top 5 P&C carriers and 3 of the Top 10 brokers.
• Contribute to the evolution of InsurGPT, our proprietary generative-AI engine, by tuning models on insurance-specific data, optimizing inference latency, and ensuring ethical, compliant, and auditable AI behavior across all client deployments.
• Drive Agile Scrum ceremonies, break epics into sprint-ready stories, and maintain transparent Jira dashboards so every teammate—from engineer to executive—has real-time visibility into progress, blockers, and customer impact.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on Python development in production environments, with demonstrable expertise in asynchronous programming, performance optimization, and secure coding practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field.
• Proven experience designing and consuming REST/SOAP APIs and integrating with cloud services—Azure preferred—including serverless functions, managed databases, and event-driven architectures.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for non-technical stakeholders.
• Track record of delivering large-scale projects using Agile Scrum methodologies on time and within budget.
• Startup or high-growth environment experience preferred, with adaptability to rapid iteration and evolving priorities.
