  • • As a QA Engineer at Brighterly, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of an innovative EdTech platform designed to make math learning engaging and accessible for children worldwide, directly contributing to the mission of building a globally impactful educational unicorn.
  • • Your work will directly influence user trust and product success by identifying defects early, validating functionality across web interfaces, and helping shape a robust quality culture that supports rapid, safe releases in a fast-growing startup environment.
  • • You will perform manual testing of the Brighterly web platform, focusing on functional validation, user flow verification, and regression testing to ensure new features do not break existing functionality.
  • • You will actively contribute to the development and maintenance of an automated testing framework using Playwright, writing and executing test scripts in JavaScript/TypeScript to increase test coverage and efficiency.
  • • You will review technical requirements and user stories during sprint planning to anticipate potential impacts on existing functionality and provide early feedback to prevent defects.
  • • You will monitor and validate the quality of daily releases by executing smoke and sanity tests, reporting issues promptly, and verifying fixes in staging and production environments.
  • • You will propose and implement improvements to QA processes, including test case design, checklist creation, and defect reporting standards, to enable early detection of issues and enhance team productivity.
  • • You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps to understand API interactions, interpret Chrome DevTools network activity, and validate end-to-end system behavior.
  • • You will maintain and execute API tests using Postman, validate database states with SQL queries, and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, interpreting logs to diagnose failures.
  • • You will work within a supportive, mission-driven venture builder environment that values ownership, continuous learning, and accountability, where your ideas for process improvement are actively encouraged and implemented.
  • • You will grow your expertise in modern QA practices, test automation, and EdTech product domains while contributing to a product used by millions of children and parents, with opportunities to influence quality strategy at scale.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Proven experience in manual QA testing of web applications, including writing clear, reproducible bug reports, test cases, and checklists using tools like Jira, YouTrack, ClickUp, or Testomat.io.
  • • Hands-on experience with test automation using Playwright (or similar frameworks) in JavaScript/TypeScript, including writing, maintaining, and executing automated tests.
  • • Solid understanding of web technologies, including frontend-backend interaction, API concepts, and the ability to use Chrome DevTools to inspect network requests and responses.
  • • Experience with API testing via Postman, SQL for data validation, and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, with the ability to read logs and troubleshoot failures.
