đź“‹ Description

  • • Nexus Mutual is at the forefront of revolutionizing finance by building a blockchain designed to natively embed the world’s financial system into a single, compounding ecosystem. Our mission is to support every major financial market on one global exchange, unifying historically fragmented infrastructure across various chains and intermediaries. With headquarters in San Francisco and a rapidly expanding presence in Buenos Aires, we are a diverse, cross-continental team comprising talented engineers, cryptographers, and market builders. We are deeply committed to investing in and growing the Latin American tech ecosystem, and we are actively seeking world-class talent to join our dynamic team.
  • • As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) on a 12-month contract with the potential for extension, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening the quality and reliability of Nexus’s Layer 1 blockchain and its native Decentralized Exchange (DEX). This is a remote position based in Argentina, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge financial infrastructure from a location that suits you best.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be to develop, maintain, and enhance the automated testing infrastructure that underpins our critical trading, settlement, and blockchain systems. You will be instrumental in ensuring these systems are not only secure and performant but also production-ready, meeting the highest standards of reliability demanded by the financial industry.
  • • You will work closely with our backend, protocol, and frontend engineering teams located in San Francisco, fostering seamless collaboration despite geographical distances. Your contributions from Argentina will be crucial in shipping high-quality financial infrastructure at scale, impacting the core of verifiable finance.
  • • Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining robust automated test suites for our backend services, which are primarily built using Node.js and Rust. This involves creating comprehensive integration and end-to-end tests that meticulously cover complex trading flows, intricate settlement logic, and critical on-chain verification processes.
  • • You will be tasked with designing precise test cases for our APIs, ensuring their functionality and robustness. Furthermore, you will contribute to the testing of our data pipelines and distributed system components, guaranteeing their integrity and efficiency.
  • • A significant part of your role will involve assisting in the implementation and optimization of CI/CD pipelines. This includes automating testing processes and validating deployments to ensure a smooth and reliable release cycle.
  • • You will also be responsible for writing and executing performance and regression tests. These tests are vital for ensuring the sustained reliability and responsiveness of our systems, especially under high-load conditions, which are common in financial markets.
  • • Debugging issues across various services will be a core activity. You will need to skillfully reproduce bugs, conduct thorough root cause analysis, and collaborate effectively with engineers to implement timely and effective resolutions.
  • • Your contributions will extend to actively improving test coverage, enhancing observability into system behavior, and elevating quality standards across the entire codebase. This proactive approach to quality assurance is fundamental to our engineering philosophy.
  • • This role offers an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the backend systems that power the Layer 1 for Verifiable Finance. You will collaborate with a team of experts at the intersection of blockchain, AI, and financial infrastructure, shaping the foundational elements of a verifiable, transparent, and global trading system.
  • • You will thrive in a fast-moving, high-impact engineering environment where your work directly influences the success and integrity of our innovative financial products. This is a chance to be part of a company that is building the future of finance, making it more accessible, transparent, and secure for everyone.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 1-2 years of experience in software development or QA automation, with internships or academic projects counting towards this experience.
  • • Experience writing automated tests using JavaScript/TypeScript, Rust, or similar programming languages.
  • • Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, Playwright, Cypress, or comparable tools.
  • • Basic understanding of APIs, databases, and backend systems.
  • • Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • • Excellent communication skills in Business English (both spoken and written).
  • • Eagerness to learn about distributed systems, financial infrastructure, and blockchain technology.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Opportunity to build backend systems powering the Layer 1 for Verifiable Finance.
  • • Collaborate with experts in blockchain, AI, and financial infrastructure.
  • • Shape the foundation for a verifiable, transparent, global trading system.
  • • Thrive in a fast-moving, high-impact engineering environment.
  • • 12-month contract with potential for extension.

About Nexus Mutual

Nexus Mutual is a decentralized insurance protocol built on Ethereum that enables members to share risk through discretionary coverage products. Founded in 2017 and headquartered in London, the platform uses a mutual structure governed by NXM token holders who collectively underwrite smart-contract failure, exchange hacks, and other crypto-specific risks. Members stake tokens to assess claims and receive rewards, while policyholders purchase cover priced algorithmically based on staking levels and historical loss data. The protocol operates transparently on-chain, replacing traditional insurers with peer-to-pool risk sharing and automated claims assessment.
