  • • The Quality Control Lead - SMIT role supports the Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) program for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, ensuring reliable operation of print and video teleconferencing (VTC) systems across global military networks. This position is critical to maintaining mission-critical IT services for approximately 400,000 users worldwide under a multi-year subcontract with Leidos Corporation, expected to run through at least September 2028.
  • • Day-to-day responsibilities include installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing print devices and VTC equipment in enterprise environments; managing service tickets; leading complex print/VTC projects across assigned Areas of Responsibility (AOR); serving as a liaison with military and civilian clients and vendors; interpreting client needs; addressing escalated break/fix issues; maintaining customer, partner, and vendor relationships; managing inventory stocking levels; communicating service expectations to leadership; and ensuring SLA compliance through metric tracking. The role requires 25% travel outside the AOR and is based at a designated Navy facility with no remote work option.
  • • The role sits within CDW Corporation’s SMIT program team, supporting one of the largest IT services programs for the Department of Defense. CDW acts as a subcontractor to Leidos, providing enterprise services including transport, datacenter, network operations, service desk, cybersecurity, and managed services. The team operates under the guidance of Regional Field Manager, Program Manager, and Deputy Program Manager, with a focus on establishing best practices, mentoring teammates, and driving process adoption across the organization.
  • • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in military-grade print and VTC systems, strengthen leadership and client-facing communication skills, gain experience managing complex multi-site technology projects in secure government environments, and build proficiency in IT service management frameworks. You’ll have the opportunity to mentor peers, influence standardization of practices, and contribute to the long-term success of a high-impact defense IT program while working within CDW’s culture of trust, innovation, and AI-enabled growth.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Active DOD Secret Clearance
  • • Security+ Certification
  • • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • • 3+ years of experience working with an OEM or Third-Party provider of printer repair services
  • • Solid verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
