This role offers a unique opportunity to own the entire recruitment lifecycle, from the initial spark of outreach to the successful integration of new team members. You will partner closely with highly selective clients, primarily operating in the critical fields of AI safety, global development, and adjacent impactful sectors. Your expertise will be crucial in understanding nuanced role requirements, developing bespoke sourcing strategies for niche communities, and architecting evaluation processes that truly reveal a candidate's potential beyond mere credentials.
- • This is a pivotal role within an early-stage company where your input will directly influence and refine our recruitment methodologies. You will be empowered to set new standards, build robust operational foundations, and ensure our clients can scale their teams with speed and precision. - • **Key Responsibilities:**
- • **Role Scoping & Strategy:** Collaborate intimately with clients to gain a profound understanding of their specific role requirements, organizational culture, and strategic objectives. Develop and implement innovative sourcing strategies meticulously tailored to reach specialized talent pools within niche communities.
- • **Sourcing & Pipeline Building:** Proactively build and nurture candidate pipelines through a diverse array of channels. This includes leveraging direct networks, identifying similar organizations, engaging in relevant community forums, attending conferences, soliciting referrals, and executing targeted direct outreach. A key focus will be on utilizing and expanding networks within the Effective Altruism, AI safety, and related impactful communities.
- • **Screening & Evaluation:** Conduct thorough initial screening calls to assess candidate motivation, cultural alignment, and core capabilities. Design and facilitate engaging work trials that accurately simulate real-world job challenges, providing deep insights into a candidate's problem-solving approach and execution skills. Coordinate comprehensive reference checks to validate candidate profiles.
- • **Work Trial Design & Facilitation:** Create practical, role-specific work tests that mirror the actual tasks and challenges candidates will encounter in their roles. Develop clear, objective evaluation criteria and rubrics to ensure fair and consistent assessment of candidate performance.
- • **ATS & Pipeline Management:** Maintain meticulously organized candidate pipelines using our chosen Applicant Tracking System (ATS), such as Ashby or Airtable. Diligently track key recruitment metrics, document candidate feedback, and ensure prompt, professional communication with all internal and external stakeholders.
- • **Hiring & Compliance Guidance:** Provide expert guidance to clients throughout the offer decision process. Coordinate essential employment compliance requirements, including the preparation of contractor agreements, facilitating Employer of Record (EOR) arrangements, and navigating international hiring complexities.
- • **Onboarding Coordination:** Ensure a seamless and positive onboarding experience for all new hires. This includes managing system access, coordinating necessary documentation, facilitating introductions, and planning the critical first-week activities to set new team members up for success.
- • **Process Improvement & Documentation:** Continuously analyze and refine existing recruitment workflows, templates, and evaluation methodologies. Proactively identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency gains. Document best practices and develop reusable assets to streamline the recruitment process for recurring role types.
- • **Client Partnership:** Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic insights and recommendations on talent acquisition best practices. Build strong, collaborative relationships based on transparency and shared goals.
- • **Impact Measurement:** Track and report on key recruitment metrics, demonstrating the impact of your efforts on client hiring success and overall business objectives. Use data to inform future strategies and process improvements.
- • **Continuous Learning:** Stay abreast of the latest trends and innovations in recruitment technology, sourcing strategies, and talent acquisition best practices, particularly within the AI safety and global development sectors.
