- • As a Remote Medical Director, Appeals at Centene Corporation, you will provide critical medical leadership to improve care quality and cost-effectiveness for 28 million members, directly supporting the Chief Medical Director in shaping medical management strategies.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include conducting medical reviews for complex utilization cases, leading quality improvement initiatives, coordinating care for high-risk patients, representing the business unit in clinical and regulatory forums, and supporting physician education and committee functions.
- • You will join Centene’s Medical Management/Health Services team, a diversified national organization committed to workplace flexibility, innovation, and equitable healthcare access across 9 locations with remote work options.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in healthcare policy, utilization management, and quality accreditation while influencing clinical practice patterns, provider alliances, and medical necessity decisions at scale.
🎯 Requirements
- • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
- • Active, unrestricted state medical license
- • Board certification in a medical specialty recognized by ABMS or AOA
- • Experience in utilization management, quality improvement, or medical review
- • Active clinical practice (currently treating patients)
- • Experience working with culturally diverse populations
