📋 Description
- • As a Research Engineer in Calibration at Waabi Innovation Inc., you will create the next generation of calibration systems for autonomous driving, directly contributing to the safety and scalability of commercial autonomous trucks and robotaxis.
- • You will develop and implement calibration algorithms using classical and learning-based approaches in 3D geometry, design real-time calibration integrity monitoring systems, and coordinate large-scale deployment across autonomous vehicle fleets.
- • You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of world-renowned scientists and engineers in a fast-growing, mission-driven company backed by leaders in AI, automotive, logistics, and deep tech.
- • You will deepen your expertise in sensor fusion, real-time systems, and production-grade software engineering while working on high-impact, safety-critical problems at the forefront of Physical AI.
🎯 Requirements
- • Deep knowledge in calibration problems with prior experience fusing multi-sensor systems and evaluating calibration quality using classical (e.g., ICP, SLAM, visual/radar odometry) and learning-based approaches (e.g., NeRF, 3D Splatting).
- • Understanding of sensor modelling from a physical perspective, with ability to investigate calibration issues down to the hardware level to root cause problems.
- • Experience shipping production-quality software, not just prototypes, with strong software engineering fundamentals in native languages such as C++ or Rust (Waabi uses Rust) and comfort with Python interop.
