- • Develop and maintain scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails, adhering to best practices for clean, maintainable code.
- • Design, build, and optimize RESTful APIs that power Hudu’s SaaS platform, ensuring reliability, performance, and consistency across all endpoints.
- • Implement modern front-end interactions using Hotwire components including Turbo Streams, Turbo Frames, and Stimulus.js to deliver responsive, near-instant user experiences.
- • Collaborate with product and design teams to translate UI/UX specifications into functional, user-friendly features end-to-end.
- • Write comprehensive tests using RSpec and follow Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices to ensure code quality and system stability.
- • Participate actively in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making to improve platform scalability and maintainability.
- • Use GitHub for version control, pull request reviews, and collaboration within the engineering team.
- • Deploy and manage application environments using Docker in both development and production settings.
- • Monitor application health and error reporting via Sentry to quickly identify, diagnose, and resolve production issues.
- • Leverage GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, building, and deployment workflows.
- • Document APIs using Swagger to ensure clarity and consistency for internal and external consumers.
- • Consult with engineering and managerial personnel to clarify feature intent, identify technical challenges, and propose solutions.
- • Maintain clear communication with team members regarding progress, blockers, and status updates to ensure alignment across product cycles.
- • Continuously improve platform performance, security, and reliability as Hudu scales to serve thousands of IT professionals and MSPs.
- • Contribute to the evolution of the product by proposing and implementing new features, enhancements, and system improvements.
- • Stay current with evolving Rails conventions, including ActiveRecord, routing, controllers, service objects, and background jobs.
- • Translate complex UI/UX designs into responsive, accessible, and performant front-end interfaces using modern HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- • Actively engage in constructive feedback loops during code reviews and team discussions to foster a culture of learning and improvement.
- • Manage time effectively to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and balance multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- • Maintain excellent written and spoken English communication skills to collaborate across distributed teams and document technical work clearly.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of experience developing software with Ruby on Rails
- • Strong understanding of Rails conventions including ActiveRecord, routing, controllers, service objects, and background jobs
- • In-depth experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs
- • Proficient in Hotwire (Stimulus.js and Turbo) for developing dynamic user interfaces
- • Proficient in modern HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- • Proficient in Git for version control
