- • The Systems Operator role at Hawk-Eye Innovations Limited is a pivotal position supporting the delivery of elite officiating and broadcast technology solutions across Rugby League and Cricket in Australia and New Zealand. This role ensures the seamless operation of Hawk-Eye’s SMART Replay system during NRL matches and broadcast tracking systems during cricket fixtures, directly contributing to the integrity and quality of live sports broadcasts and officiating decisions.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with the setup and configuration of Hawk-Eye systems for match events, conducting pre-match checks per operational procedures, monitoring and operating systems during live broadcasts, responding to requests from match officials and production teams, and ensuring system reliability and delivery standards are maintained.
- • The role involves supporting the Project Lead in coordinating operational resources and match logistics, assisting with workforce scheduling and operational planning, maintaining operational documentation, and preparing equipment for deployment.
- • Technical duties include troubleshooting and reporting software or hardware issues, maintaining and preparing deployment equipment, and providing feedback to support ongoing system development based on operational insights.
- • The Systems Operator will liaise professionally with match officials, production teams, stadium staff, and broadcast partners, representing Hawk-Eye on-site in a collaborative and professional manner.
- • As part of a dynamic operations team, the role offers exposure to high-profile sporting events and cutting-edge sports technology, with opportunities to work across both Rugby League and Cricket seasons, providing year-round operational development and experience in live broadcast environments.
- • Over time, the incumbent will develop expertise in Hawk-Eye’s technologies and workflows, progressing from foundational learning of system setup and calibration to confident live match operation, supporting operational leadership, assisting in training casual operators, and contributing to workflow improvements.
- • The role is ideal for a graduate or early-career candidate with strong technical aptitude, a passion for sport, and an interest in broadcast technology, offering a clear development path toward operational leadership or specialist technical responsibilities within the department.
