- • Own the end-to-end SAP BASIS delivery stream for a multi-year, enterprise-scale S/4HANA transformation that touches every line of business and underpins €3 B+ in annual revenue.
- • Act as the single point of accountability for technical architecture, infrastructure design, system provisioning, upgrades, performance tuning, security hardening, and post-migration BAU readiness—translating complex business requirements into rock-solid technical solutions.
- • Lead, mentor, and grow a distributed team of BASIS engineers, cloud architects, and DevOps specialists across multiple time zones; set the technical bar, review designs, remove blockers, and ensure every sprint delivers measurable value.
- • Drive the governance rhythm: chair weekly stream-lead stand-ups, present status to the steering committee, and translate red-amber-green metrics into clear, executive-level narratives that keep sponsors confident and stakeholders aligned.
- • Orchestrate the technical cutover playbook—from mock conversions to dress rehearsals to go-live—owning downtime windows, rollback plans, and the hyper-care war room until the first month-end closes flawlessly.
- • Partner with the Program Manager to lock scope, sequence work packages, and continuously refine the master plan; use Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar to maintain a living backlog that balances feature velocity with technical debt reduction.
- • Collaborate with functional workstreams (Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales) and third-party SaaS vendors to right-size landscapes, tune RFC/BAPI throughput, and ensure every interface meets peak-day SLAs.
- • Design and execute infrastructure sourcing strategy: evaluate hyperscaler vs. on-prem vs. hybrid models, negotiate with operations partners, and lock in cost-effective contracts that scale from sandbox to 10 TB HANA production.
- • Build and maintain golden-image templates, automated provisioning scripts, and Infrastructure-as-Code pipelines so that any new system can be stood up in hours, not weeks, with security baselines baked in.
- • Champion performance engineering: define KPIs, drive load-testing cycles with 5× peak volume, and optimize SQL plans, memory parameters, and disk layout to hit sub-second response times for 50 k concurrent users.
- • Prepare the landscape for BAU operations—create sizing models, craft runbooks, set up monitoring/alerting, and hand over to the 24×7 support organization with zero knowledge gaps.
- • Coordinate cost estimation and controlling: translate technical blueprints into TCO forecasts, track burn rate vs. budget, and surface early-warning indicators to keep the program within 3 % variance.
- • Communicate planned downtimes, technical constraints, and release calendars to a global user base of 25 k+; run change-advisory boards and ensure every change ticket is risk-assessed, tested, and approved.
- • Define the governance model for BASIS deliverables—coding standards, peer-review gates, automated testing thresholds, and audit-ready documentation—so that external auditors and SOX controls are satisfied at every gate.
- • Continuously scan the SAP roadmap, evaluate new features (Fiori 3.0, BTP extensions, RISE with SAP), and propose adoption strategies that future-proof the platform for the next five years.
- • Foster a culture of innovation: run internal hackathons, champion S/4HANA clean-core principles, and share lessons learned in global tech talks to elevate Nagarro’s brand as a thought leader.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years hands-on SAP BASIS experience with at least two full-cycle S/4HANA conversions or large-scale ECC upgrades on HANA.
- • Proven leadership of distributed BASIS teams (8+ engineers) in agile, multi-vendor environments; PMP or SAFe certification preferred.
- • Deep expertise in HANA sizing, performance tuning, high-availability, disaster-recovery, and cloud migrations (AWS, Azure, GCP, or RISE).
- • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills—able to translate technical trade-offs into business impact and secure buy-in.
- • Nice-to-have: SAP BTP, Fiori Gateway, Linux/Unix scripting, Terraform/Ansible, SAP Solution Manager 7.2, and experience with SAP SaaS integrations (SuccessFactors, Ariba, Fieldglass).
