- • Own the end-to-end technical delivery of SAP S/4HANA solutions for enterprise clients across Germany and beyond, translating complex business requirements into robust, scalable code that powers mission-critical processes.
- • Design and implement state-of-the-art Fiori/UI5 front-end applications and OData services that deliver a consumer-grade user experience to thousands of finance, supply-chain and manufacturing professionals every day.
- • Lead or co-lead greenfield, brownfield and global roll-out projects from initial blueprint workshops through go-live and hyper-care, ensuring every development milestone is met on time and on budget.
- • Provide 2nd and 3rd level development support for existing customers, diving deep into ABAP, CDS views, BOPF and RAP to resolve performance bottlenecks, security gaps or functional defects within SLA.
- • Act as the go-to technical consultant for SAP-specific development topics—whether it’s explaining the nuances of the new RESTful ABAP programming model or advising on optimal extensibility strategies for S/4HANA Cloud.
- • Collaborate daily with a 34-person international development guild (product owners, architects, QA and DevOps engineers) in agile sprints, code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions that keep everyone at the cutting edge.
- • Work closely with German-speaking business analysts and process owners on-site or remotely, translating functional specs into clean, maintainable code while proactively suggesting simplifications or innovations.
- • Extend standard SAP objects through enhancement spots, BADIs, BTEs and custom code while strictly adhering to clean-core principles and ensuring future upgrade compatibility.
- • Build and maintain comprehensive technical documentation—architecture blueprints, test cases, user stories and after-care guides—that empower both colleagues and clients to operate autonomously.
- • Champion test-driven development and automated testing (ABAP Unit, OPA, QUnit) to guarantee zero-regression releases and continuous integration pipelines.
- • Mentor junior developers through pair-programming, brown-bag lunches and structured feedback loops, raising the overall capability of the entire team.
- • Evaluate emerging SAP technologies—such as CAP, Kyma or SAP Build—and run proof-of-concepts that could give our customers a competitive edge.
- • Travel occasionally (10–15 %) to customer sites across Germany for workshops, go-live support or high-impact troubleshooting sessions.
- • Contribute to pre-sales activities by estimating effort, crafting technical proposals and demonstrating prototypes that win new business.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of hands-on SAP development experience, including at least 3 full-cycle S/4HANA implementations (greenfield or brownfield)
- • Expert-level ABAP, CDS, OData and Fiori/UI5 skills with proven ability to deliver clean-core, upgrade-safe solutions
- • Strong written and spoken German (C1) and fluent English for daily collaboration with German clients and international colleagues
- • Nice-to-have: S/4HANA Cloud development experience, CAP or RAP proficiency, SAP certification (C_TAW12_750, C_FIORDEV_22 or similar)
