đź“‹ Description
- • As an SDET at Alkami Technology, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, stable software for a leading digital banking platform used by U.S. banks and credit unions. Your work directly supports the company’s mission to enable Anticipatory Banking through reliable, secure, and performant technology.
- • You will collaborate within an Agile scrum team to design, build, and maintain automated test suites across the full technology stack—including UI, API, microservices, and database layers—while contributing to the evolution of test frameworks, tooling, and quality engineering practices that drive continuous improvement.
- • Alkami is a recognized leader in fintech culture and innovation, consistently honored as a Best Place to Work with accolades for engineering excellence, career growth, and workplace culture. As a remote-first company, you’ll join a distributed team of high-performing professionals committed to technical mastery and collaborative problem-solving.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in test automation, CI/CD integration, and quality engineering at scale, while gaining exposure to modern architectures like Kubernetes, Kafka, and microservices. You’ll have the opportunity to lead quality initiatives, mentor peers, and influence testing strategy across teams.
- • You will build and maintain automated test suites for UI (Selenium/Cypress/Playwright), mobile (Appium/Espresso), and API (RestAssured/HttpClient) testing, ensuring stability and optimization across releases.
- • You will contribute to the design and enhancement of test automation frameworks using industry best practices such as Page Object Model, data-driven, and behavior-driven development with tools like JUnit, NUnit, TestNG, Pytest, or Cucumber.
- • You will integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using platforms like Bamboo, TeamCity, CircleCI, or GitLab, ensuring tests run reliably with every build and deployment.
- • You will perform functional and regression testing, analyze results, report defects promptly, and ensure traceability between test cases and requirements to support risk-based testing decisions.
- • You will participate in all Agile ceremonies—sprint planning, grooming, demos, and retrospectives—collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and support teams to understand architecture and quality implications.
- • You will design comprehensive test plans covering smoke, functional, regression, and other test types, leveraging techniques for test case optimization and maintaining alignment with Agile/DevOps methodologies.
- • You will manage test environments and test data, ensuring consistency with staging and production setups, and lead efforts to maintain test environment reliability and availability.
- • You will apply knowledge of relational (SQL Server, Postgres) and non-relational (MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases to write complex queries, validate data integrity, and support backend testing.
- • You will use white-box testing tools like SonarQube and JaCoCo to assess code quality and test coverage, contributing to broader engineering excellence.
- • You will test across diverse architectures including REST, GraphQL, gRPC, Webhooks, Kafka, SQS, and Kubernetes, validating microservices and event-driven systems effectively.
- • You will evaluate and improve test management tools and workflows, define cross-team test plans, and coordinate execution and reporting to enhance organizational quality.
- • You will troubleshoot deployment issues in environments like TeamCity and Kubernetes, interpret server errors, and respond to on-call PagerDuty alerts to support production stability.
- • You will communicate quality metrics, test results, and risks clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, presenting data in meaningful ways to drive informed decisions.
- • You will review source code during debugging and triaging, identify potential issues, and provide insights that improve both testability and code quality.
- • You will actively participate in technical design and code reviews with architects and developers, advocating for testability and sharing insights on system limitations and feature impacts.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proficient in object-oriented programming and coding in one or more languages such as C#, Java, Python, or JavaScript, with familiarity in Shell and PowerShell scripting.
- • Extensive experience with full-stack open-source testing tools including Selenium/Cypress/Playwright (web), Appium/Espresso (mobile), and RestAssured/HttpClient (API).
- • Ability to build and maintain test automation frameworks using best practices like Page Object Model, data-driven, or BDD with frameworks such as JUnit, NUnit, TestNG, Pytest, or Cucumber.
- • Adept at managing source control via Git (Bitbucket, GitLab, GitHub) and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Bamboo, TeamCity, CircleCI, or GitLab.
- • Working knowledge of relational (SQL Server, Postgres) and non-relational (MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases, including writing complex queries with joins and aggregates.
- • Experience testing microservices, event-driven architectures (Kafka, SQS), Kubernetes, and service virtualization, with understanding of REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and Webhooks.
- • Strong communication skills to convey quality processes, test results, and risks across Product, Engineering, and Support teams.
- • Ability to troubleshoot deployment issues in TeamCity/Kubernetes, interpret logs, and respond to on-call PagerDuty alerts for production support.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Remote-first work environment with flexibility to work from anywhere in the U.S.
- • Unlimited paid time off to support work-life balance and personal well-being.
- • 401(k) plan with employer matching to help build long-term financial security.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans.
- • Recognition as a Best Place to Work in Fintech and nationally, with awards for culture, career growth, and engineering excellence.
- • Access to professional development opportunities and a culture that encourages continuous learning and innovation.
