- • As a Security Associate focused on M&A and Partnerships at Kraken, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the company’s growth by evaluating and securing the technical foundations of potential acquisitions, partnerships, and vendor relationships in the fast-evolving crypto industry. Your work ensures that Kraken maintains its industry-leading security posture while scaling through strategic transactions.
- • Day to day, you will conduct thorough security and IT due diligence on target companies, assessing cybersecurity posture, infrastructure, and technology stacks; lead the integration of IT systems and security practices post-acquisition to align with Kraken’s standards; drive technical project execution across M&A workstreams by defining scopes, rationalizing technology choices, and coordinating cross-functional efforts; partner with Security, Engineering, Corporate Development, Legal, and Product teams to align on timelines, requirements, and risk mitigation; and continuously improve internal processes through automation, AI-enabled tooling, and standardized reporting to enhance efficiency and consistency.
- • You will join a small but high-impact M&A-focused Security and IT team within Kraken’s broader Security organization, known for punching above its weight through deep technical expertise and close collaboration across HR, Legal, Finance, Compliance, and Business Operations. The team operates with hyper-transparency post-close, fostering candid dialogue and adaptability in response to the dynamic crypto landscape while maintaining strict confidentiality during active diligence.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in security architecture, technical integration, and cross-functional leadership within a mission-driven crypto company, gaining hands-on experience shaping the security posture of a global leader in digital assets while working alongside industry pioneers committed to financial freedom and inclusion through blockchain innovation.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of experience in security, engineering, IT, technical project management, or M&A integration roles
- • Broad experience across Security, IT, and Engineering disciplines with deep expertise in at least one area such as Identity & Access Management, IT Systems Management, Application Security, DevOps/SRE, Vulnerability Management, or Security Architecture
- • Demonstrated ability to design or execute technical architecture plans that support business goals and leverage automation and AI to improve technical workflows
