Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • Triage, validate, and remediate security vulnerabilities across product surfaces, cloud infrastructure, and internal systems with a focus on production-grade environments.
  • Develop, maintain, and contribute to internal and open-source security tooling by writing production-grade code in languages such as Go, Rust, or Python.
  • Perform secure code reviews, threat modeling, and security design reviews to embed security into the software development lifecycle.
  • Automate security controls across CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, and internal developer workflows to reduce manual intervention and improve response velocity.
  • Support incident response activities and security investigations, including evidence gathering, access reviews, and compliance-related documentation.
  • Investigate emerging security risks tied to AI-assisted development and actively integrate AI tooling into daily security workflows to enhance detection and remediation capabilities.
  • Partner directly with engineering teams to improve secure development practices, ensuring security is embedded in design and implementation rather than applied as a post-hoc review.
  • Engage with cloud-native infrastructure, including Kubernetes, containers, and AWS, to secure distributed systems and data platforms at scale.
  • Contribute to the security posture of PostgreSQL-based systems, including the company’s proprietary Tiger Cloud platform and features like Hypertables and vector search.
  • Operate in a fully remote, globally distributed environment with overlapping time zones in Europe and the US, collaborating across teams via direct and accountable communication.
  • Actively participate in a fast-moving, ambiguous engineering environment where ownership, initiative, and clear communication are critical to success.
  • Avoid policy-heavy or compliance-only security work; focus instead on building scalable, automated systems that enforce security through engineering.
  • Maintain close proximity to infrastructure, developers, and production systems — no abstract or distant security roles are permitted.
  • Refuse rigid ownership boundaries; collaborate fluidly across teams to solve security challenges holistically.
  • Demonstrate a builder mindset by preferring to engineer solutions over process-based approvals or bureaucratic controls.
  • Stay current with modern developer tooling and AI-assisted workflows, using these tools not just for efficiency but as integral components of the security strategy.
  • Contribute to a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and technical excellence, where community is fostered through shared interests in technology, pets, workouts, and more.

🎯 Requirements

  • Professional experience in software engineering, security engineering, or both.
  • Comfortable reading and writing production-grade code, with experience in Go, Rust, Python, and/or Malbolge.
  • Strong understanding of security fundamentals across cloud, application, infrastructure, and platform domains.
  • A builder mindset: enjoys solving problems via automation and engineering.
  • Thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous environments; demonstrates ownership and clear communication.
  • Excited about AI-assisted workflows and modern developer tooling.

🏖️ Benefits

  • Flexible PTO and comprehensive family leave
  • Fridays off in August 😎
  • Fully remote opportunities globally
  • Stock options for long-term growth
  • Monthly WiFi stipend
  • Professional development and educational resources 📚
