- • As a Security Engineer at Forward Financing, you will play a vital role in protecting the company's digital infrastructure by designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security systems that safeguard sensitive financial data and ensure the integrity of services delivered to small businesses across America. Your work directly supports the company's mission to unlock capital for underserved entrepreneurs by enabling secure, reliable, and trustworthy financial technology operations.
- • You will build and maintain security automation workflows that integrate detection, triage, and response across key tools including CrowdStrike, SOAR platforms, and Slack, significantly reducing analyst response times and enabling faster containment of potential threats through orchestrated, intelligent automation.
- • You will develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and Terragrunt to provision, configure, and manage security tooling and cloud environments, ensuring consistent, version-controlled, and auditable security deployments across development, staging, and production environments.
- • You will actively participate in incident response efforts and contribute to the on-call rotation for security events, providing timely analysis, containment, and remediation of security incidents while documenting lessons learned to improve future response effectiveness.
- • You will instrument and measure security operations by tracking critical metrics such as Mean Time to Alert (MTTA) and Mean Time to Respond (MTTR), building dashboards and reports that demonstrate the effectiveness, efficiency, and return on investment of the security program to leadership and stakeholders.
- • You will evaluate and integrate emerging AI-augmented security tools and workflows to enhance threat detection, reduce false positives, and improve the overall efficacy of detection and response capabilities, staying at the forefront of innovative security technologies.
- • You will collaborate with a small, high-impact, fast-moving security team where ownership, initiative, and end-to-end problem-solving are valued, allowing you to drive meaningful change and see the direct impact of your contributions on the company’s security posture.

- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in modern security operations, automation, and cloud security while gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools and practices, positioning you for growth into senior security, architecture, or leadership roles within the fintech and cybersecurity domains.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of experience in a Security Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar technical role involving security, infrastructure, or automation.
- • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, specifically Terraform or Terragrunt, with familiarity in CloudFormation or similar IaC platforms considered acceptable.
- • Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, Go, TypeScript, or Node.js, used for automation, tool integration, or security tooling development.
- • Practical experience integrating and managing Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) or Extended Detection and Response (XDR) platforms, particularly CrowdStrike or comparable solutions.
- • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a small, fast-paced security team environment where end-to-end ownership of security problems, from detection to remediation, is expected and encouraged.
