Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As a Security Engineer Lead, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing the security strategy for a rapidly growing, multi-million user AI platform. This pivotal role demands a blend of strategic vision and hands-on technical execution, ensuring the integrity and trustworthiness of a platform that is defining the future of artificial intelligence measurement.
- • You will operate at the intersection of product development, infrastructure, and data pipelines, proactively identifying potential risks and embedding robust security measures into the core functionalities of the platform. Your primary objective will be to construct scalable defenses against sophisticated threats such as abuse, fraud, and adversarial behavior, safeguarding the user experience and the platform's reputation.
- • This is a unique opportunity to be a builder, not just a leader. You will be responsible for setting the technical direction for security initiatives while also actively contributing to the development process. This includes writing code, creating essential security tools, and designing the foundational frameworks that will instill security and trust as intrinsic elements of the product's DNA.
- • A key responsibility will be to own the overarching product security vision. This involves ensuring that security and trust considerations are integrated into every phase of the product lifecycle, from initial concept and design through to development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
- • You will design and implement critical platform-wide security features. This includes developing sophisticated mechanisms for Sybil resistance, advanced bot detection algorithms, robust reputation systems, and fundamental anti-abuse primitives that form the bedrock of platform security.
- • Leading threat modeling exercises and conducting thorough security architecture reviews for both new and existing product features will be a core part of your role. This proactive approach will help identify and mitigate vulnerabilities before they can be exploited.
- • Close collaboration with infrastructure and product engineering teams is essential. You will work together to design secure APIs, define secure data flows, and establish resilient identity systems that are built to scale with the platform's growth.
- • To enhance developer productivity and ensure consistency, you will focus on creating secure-by-default frameworks and intuitive tooling for internal engineering teams. This will empower developers to build secure features more efficiently.
- • You will partner closely with the incident response team to swiftly assess, contain, and remediate any security events that may occur. Following incidents, you will lead comprehensive postmortems to derive actionable insights and continuously improve defensive capabilities.
- • Staying at the forefront of the cybersecurity landscape is crucial. You will continuously monitor emerging attack techniques and apply cutting-edge security research to proactively enhance our platform's defenses.
- • As a lead, you will play a vital role in mentoring engineers across the organization. This includes sharing best practices in secure coding, guiding architectural trade-offs from a security perspective, and promoting operational security excellence.
- • The role requires a deep understanding of securing large-scale, user-facing platforms, with a proven ability to design and implement systems that effectively detect, mitigate, and prevent adversarial behavior. Hands-on experience in building production-ready security features at scale, handling millions of daily active users and billions of requests, is paramount.
- • You will leverage your proficiency in backend development languages such as Node.js, TypeScript, Python, or Go, and be prepared to contribute across the full stack as needed to address security challenges.
- • A strong grasp of distributed systems security, identity management, and authentication mechanisms is fundamental to success in this role.
- • Exceptional communication skills are necessary to effectively build alignment and foster collaboration across engineering, product management, and leadership teams, ensuring a unified approach to security.
- • Bonus points will be awarded for experience in adversarial machine learning, trust and safety systems, or securing platforms that involve voting or reputation mechanisms. Familiarity with advanced detection methods, user fingerprinting, or behavioral analytics will also be highly valued.
- • Contributions to open-source security tools or research, experience securing real-time, interactive platforms at scale, and a background in building real-time detection systems and post-processing pipelines for large-scale systems are significant advantages.
