  • • Join Chainalysis as a Security Engineer on the Product Infrastructure team, a pivotal early-career role designed for aspiring cybersecurity professionals eager to specialize in cloud and product security. In this position, you will be instrumental in safeguarding our cutting-edge platform by working hands-on with industry-leading tools like Wiz and our comprehensive security stack.
  • • Your primary responsibilities will involve the vigilant monitoring and proactive response to security findings across our dynamic AWS and Kubernetes environments. This includes deep dives into security alerts, thorough investigation of issues, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and robust remediation.
  • • You will play a crucial role in our vulnerability management program, contributing to its ongoing success and evolution. This involves understanding the lifecycle of security vulnerabilities and actively participating in processes designed to identify, assess, and mitigate risks.
  • • As part of a shared on-call rotation, you will gain invaluable experience in managing production security incidents under the guidance of senior team members. This rotational duty ensures the continuous reliability and effectiveness of our security controls, providing you with direct exposure to real-time security challenges.
  • • A key aspect of your role will be responding to security tickets and alerts. This entails meticulously investigating issues, gathering critical context from logs and dashboards, and collaborating closely with the Security Engineering and product platform teams to define and execute appropriate next steps.
  • • You will partner extensively with product, platform, and infrastructure teams. Your role will be to help them understand complex security findings, translate technical risks into clear, actionable language, and support them in implementing secure configurations across our diverse technology landscape, including AWS, GCP, Kubernetes clusters, and various shared services.
  • • You will gain hands-on experience utilizing core security tools essential for protecting our critical product cloud infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to, platforms such as Wiz, CrowdStrike, SonarCloud, and Okta, providing you with practical expertise in a modern security stack.
  • • Your participation in the on-call rotation (with comprehensive onboarding and shadowing) will be vital for handling security incidents and critical security tooling issues. You will be responsible for structured triage, detailed documentation, and clear communication throughout the incident lifecycle until resolution or a smooth hand-off to the appropriate team.
  • • You will contribute to essential security reviews for new services and significant infrastructure changes. This involves proactively identifying potential misconfigurations, recommending practical and effective mitigations, and ensuring these recommendations seamlessly integrate with existing team workflows.
  • • You will have the opportunity to learn and make well-reviewed contributions to our Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and Kubernetes configurations. This will help embed essential guardrails, hardening standards, and security checks directly into our infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, promoting a security-first development approach.
  • • Collaboration is key in this role. You will work closely with partners across Security, IT, Platform Engineering, Legal, Risk, and Investigations. Building strong working relationships and practicing clear, empathetic communication will be fundamental to your success and the success of the team.
  • • This role is ideal for individuals with a strong desire to learn and grow within the cybersecurity domain, particularly in cloud and product security. You will be immersed in a supportive environment that encourages skill development and provides opportunities to tackle complex security challenges.
  • • You will be at the forefront of protecting a rapidly growing blockchain technology ecosystem, contributing to Chainalysis's mission of bringing trust and transparency to the digital asset space.
  • • This position offers a unique chance to develop expertise in a highly sought-after field, working with innovative technologies and a talented global team dedicated to security excellence.
  • • You will be empowered to take ownership of your work, contribute to strategic security initiatives, and make a tangible impact on the security posture of a leading blockchain analysis company.
  • • The role emphasizes a proactive and preventative approach to security, encouraging you to anticipate potential threats and implement measures to stay ahead of evolving risks.
  • • You will be part of a culture that values continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and professional development, ensuring you remain at the cutting edge of security engineering.
  • • Your contributions will directly support Chainalysis's mission to enable organizations worldwide to navigate blockchains safely and with confidence, fostering innovation and trust in the digital economy.
  • • This is an opportunity to build a foundational career in security engineering with a company at the heart of the blockchain revolution, offering significant growth potential and exposure to diverse security challenges.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 2+ years of experience in security operations, security engineering, or a closely related infrastructure or cloud role (e.g., SecOps analyst, junior security engineer, or cloud DevOps engineer with strong security exposure).
  • • Hands-on experience with at least one security tool used in modern cloud or product environments (e.g., Wiz, Orca, CrowdStrike, SonarCloud, Upwind, or similar).
  • • Scripting experience in Python or Go (or similar) to automate repetitive tasks, integrate tools, or build small utilities.
  • • Prior participation in an on-call rotation for production systems or security incidents, even in a shadowing or secondary role.
  • • Experience working with tickets, incidents, or production issues, and following a structured process to investigate, document, and resolve or escalate them appropriately.
  • • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • • A learning mindset and growth orientation, with a comfort in asking questions, seeking feedback, and taking ownership.
