  • • You will harden cloud-native environments across AWS, OCI, and GCP by introducing secure-by-default designs into network configurations, tooling, and processes, reducing attack surfaces and improving resilience against evolving threats.
  • • You will own and drive resolutions that enable engineers to design, build, and use infrastructure securely at scale by deploying secure architectures using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and reusable code libraries, embedding security into the development lifecycle.
  • • You will manage IAM/RBAC for cloud infrastructure and partner with IT to streamline authentication and authorization, ensuring unified access control across all environments and reducing identity-related risks.
  • • You will deploy and operationalize critical security services and tools including SIEM, SOAR, domain monitoring, endpoint protection, and cloud security platforms, enabling proactive threat detection and rapid incident response.
  • • You will respond to security incidents, conduct post-incident analysis, and harden environments to prevent recurrence, contributing to continuous improvement of Cohere’s security posture.
  • • You will support control monitoring and remediation for compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements through systematic tracking and validation.
  • • You will gather and analyze security metrics to identify trends, measure effectiveness of controls, and address security issues with cross-team dependencies, enabling data-driven decision-making.
  • • You will act as a problem solver who is empathetic to developer concerns, employing a constructive and flexible approach to build innovative security solutions that balance security needs with engineering velocity.
  • • You will work closely with a world-class team of researchers, engineers, and designers at the forefront of AI innovation, contributing to the security foundation that enables safe and responsible deployment of frontier AI models.
  • • You will help shape Cohere’s security culture by promoting secure engineering best practices, articulating complex technical risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and fostering collaboration across global teams in Toronto, New York, San Francisco, London, and Paris.

  • • 5+ years of experience in Security Operations (SecOps), DevSecOps, Cloud Security, Threat Detection & Response, or software development with a strong focus on security tool onboarding and optimization
  • • Hands-on experience managing cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI) and Kubernetes environments in production settings
  • • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform) and CI/CD systems (e.g., Git) to automate security controls and workflows
  • • Experience with infrastructure automation, network segmentation, system hardening, container and cloud security concepts, and security observability practices
  • • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Golang and/or Python for scripting, automation, and tool development
