📋 Description

• As a Senior Agentic AI Software Engineer at Hopper Inc., you will be at the forefront of integrating advanced AI agent systems into software development, enabling autonomous feature delivery at unprecedented speed and scale. Your work will directly impact Hopper’s Hopper Technology Solutions (HTS) platform, which powers travel booking experiences for major global brands including banks, airlines, and fintech leaders, processing billions of dollars in travel transactions annually.
• You will identify and execute codebase improvements to enhance the speed, safety, and reliability of AI agents, architecting scalable solutions and foundational patterns that allow efficient launch of new travel portals across the globe. This role demands deep technical ownership in a high-trust, low-process environment where your decisions shape the future of AI-assisted software engineering.
• Day to day, you will orchestrate AI agents to build features end-to-end — from UX to database — with minimal oversight, ship and learn rapidly in iterative cycles, and drive technical decisions asynchronously by leveraging AI to generate thoughtful documentation and specifications that align the team.
• You will collaborate closely with product managers and business partners to define and refine the product roadmap, ensuring your technical vision directly influences customer-facing outcomes, while also training, deploying, and iteratively optimizing LLMs to power complex product features within a distributed Scala-based backend and React/TypeScript frontend stack.
• Working within a small, dynamic team of top-tier engineers, you will enjoy massive impact and autonomy, contributing to a culture that values entrepreneurial risk-taking, open communication with leadership, and continuous learning through high-level feedback exchange.
• In this role, you will master the art of directing AI agents and automated workflows to architect, implement, and maintain complex systems, gaining expertise in designing technical guardrails and feedback loops that maximize AI productivity and reliability — skills that are defining the next generation of software engineering.
• You will deepen your proficiency in distributed systems using Scala and GCP services, while strengthening your product thinking by anchoring architectural decisions in real customer experience, preparing you to lead in the evolving landscape of AI-augmented development.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience training, deploying, and iteratively optimizing LLMs to power complex product features in a production environment.
• Expertise in designing technical guardrails and automated feedback loops that ensure the safety, reliability, and productivity of AI agents operating within a codebase.
• Strong proficiency in Scala and distributed system development, with hands-on experience building scalable backend systems on GCP.
• Demonstrated ability to direct AI agents and automated workflows to architect, implement, and maintain complex software systems with minimal human intervention.
• Excellent product thinking, with a track record of anchoring technical decisions in customer experience and user outcomes.
• Comfort working in a high-autonomy, low-process environment where asynchronous communication and AI-assisted documentation drive team alignment.
