📋 Description

• As a Senior Agentic AI Software Engineer at Hopper Inc., you will be at the forefront of integrating advanced AI agents into the software development lifecycle to accelerate feature delivery and system scalability. Your work will directly impact Hopper’s ability to power travel commerce for major global brands through its Hopper Technology Solutions (HTS) platform, enabling faster, more reliable launches of hotel and booking experiences for partners like banks, airlines, and fintech leaders.
• You will identify and execute codebase improvements to enhance the speed, safety, and reliability of AI agents in feature development, architect scalable solutions for multi-tenant travel portals, and orchestrate AI-driven development from UX to database with minimal human oversight. Daily, you’ll collaborate asynchronously with top-tier engineers and product managers, using AI to generate thoughtful documentation and specifications that drive consensus and decision-making in a high-trust, low-process environment.
• You’ll work within Hopper’s Engineering team, part of a innovative, entrepreneurial culture where pushing technical boundaries is encouraged and your technical vision directly shapes the roadmap. The team values autonomy, open communication with leadership, and massive impact despite small team size — enabling you to own end-to-end technical outcomes that serve hundreds of millions of travelers globally.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in AI-augmented software engineering, LLMs, guardrails, and feedback loops while gaining hands-on experience with Scala-based backend systems and React/TypeScript frontends on GCP. You’ll grow as a technical leader who bridges cutting-edge AI practices with product thinking, learning how to balance innovation with reliability in high-stakes, customer-facing systems that power global travel fintech and commerce.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience training, deploying, and iteratively optimizing LLMs to power complex product features in production environments.
• Expertise in designing technical guardrails and automated feedback loops that maximize the productivity and reliability of AI agents operating within a codebase.
• Strong product thinking where your conception of quality and architecture is inherently anchored in the customer experience.
• Experience with, or a mastery-level willingness to learn, distributed system development in Scala.
• Ability to direct AI agents and automated workflows to architect, implement, and maintain complex software systems with minimal human intervention.
• Natural drive to fearlessly deep dive into unknown code bases while maintaining focus on delivering results quickly and safely.
