Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own and evolve Moxie’s Semantic Layer built on dbt and Omni, creating scalable, well-documented data models that serve as the foundation for all business intelligence and AI-driven insights within the Moxie Suite.
- • Build benchmarking and segmentation datasets that uncover actionable insights across key medspa performance pillars including patient acquisition, retention, operational efficiency, and revenue metrics.
- • Enable embedded AI capabilities in the Moxie Suite by developing high-quality, reliable datasets that power conversational analytics and predictive recommendations, targeting 98%+ accuracy for core medspa operational metrics.
- • Lead the Revenue Reconciliation & Operations workstream within the Data Governance initiative to ensure enterprise-critical reports—such as staff and service-level pay—are accurate, trusted, and consistently available.
- • Partner with a dedicated BizOps Manager to design and implement correlation and affinity metrics (e.g., 'Service A is highly correlated with increased retention') that directly inform Sales and Practice Success Manager (PSM) strategies to close enterprise medspa deals.
- • Transition Practice Intelligence from descriptive reporting ('what happened') toward predictive and prescriptive analytics ('what will happen and what to do about it') within the first year, laying the groundwork for forward-looking decision-making.
- • Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to ensure data pipelines are optimized, reliable, and aligned with product roadmaps, particularly around AI integration and real-time data needs.
- • Act as the primary data engineer on a small, focused team, operating with high autonomy and minimal oversight, shaping data conventions and architectural patterns that become company-wide standards.
- • Translate complex data findings into clear, compelling business recommendations for non-technical stakeholders, ensuring data-driven decisions are understood and acted upon across departments.
- • Contribute to the selection and integration of emerging data tools and AI-enabled platforms such as Claude Code, Cursor, and n8n, helping to define the future stack rather than just maintaining the current one.
- • Maintain rigorous data quality standards by defending every metric, questioning inconsistencies, and ensuring all models are traceable, auditable, and defensible across the organization.
- • Leverage deep domain knowledge of medspa operations, including KPIs like AOV (average order value) and retention rates, to tailor data solutions that directly impact business outcomes.
- • Help scale a vertical SaaS data architecture that captures unique clinical events tied to providers and patients at a level of granularity unmatched by competitor EMRs, making Moxie’s dataset increasingly defensible and valuable over time.
- • Operate as a foundational data hire with ownership over the structure, integrity, and evolution of the entire semantic layer, with no legacy systems to inherit—only opportunity to build.
- • Work remotely as part of a fully distributed, remote-first team with a culture that values ownership, speed with care, simplification, and continuous learning.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3–6 years of experience in analytics engineering or a closely related role
- • Deep expertise in dbt and SQL for building scalable, well-documented data models
- • Experience working in a vertical SaaS or healthcare-adjacent environment where data quality is critical
- • Proven ability to bridge engineering and business by understanding medspa KPIs (e.g., AOV, retention rate) and translating them into data solutions
- • Familiarity with AI tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar LLM-assisted development platforms
- • Experience as an early or foundational data hire with ownership over data architecture and governance
🏖️ Benefits
- • Opportunity to shape the data foundation of a fast-growing vertical SaaS platform with no legacy systems to inherit
- • Dedicated partnership with a BizOps Manager—splitting insight and engineering ownership to enable deep focus
- • Access to modern data stack including Snowflake, dbt, Omni, Airbyte, Prefect, GitHub, and AI tools like Claude Code and n8n
- • Clear 9-month milestone to transition from descriptive to prescriptive analytics, with measurable impact on product and business outcomes
