• As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building secure, scalable, and high-performance AI applications. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate directly with Dr. Marek Sirendi, Head of AI, and work closely with engineering, data, and product teams. Your contributions will directly impact the healthcare supply chain, leveraging data-driven insights to improve efficiency and outcomes.
• You will be instrumental in architecting and developing robust backend systems that seamlessly integrate with proprietary Large Language Model (LLM) APIs. This involves taking ownership of critical system components, from the design and implementation of backend APIs to the intricate development of AI agents. Your work will be at the forefront of applying AI to solve real-world healthcare challenges.
• The core responsibilities include designing and developing scalable back-end services, primarily utilizing Python and the FastAPI framework. You will be expected to craft efficient, maintainable, and resilient code that forms the backbone of our AI applications. This requires a deep understanding of backend architecture principles and best practices in AI application design.
• Collaboration is key to our success. You will work hand-in-hand with internal product managers and directly with our customers to ensure that our product development is tightly aligned with real-world needs and challenges faced by healthcare providers. This feedback loop is essential for iterating and improving our platform.
• A significant aspect of this role involves understanding and working with RESTful APIs, both for internal service communication and for integrating with various third-party services. This includes ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient data exchange across different systems.
• You will also be responsible for contributing to the design and implementation of our data storage solutions, requiring a strong understanding of database technologies. This includes optimizing queries, designing schemas, and ensuring data integrity and performance.

🎯 Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in building and deploying AI applications, showcasing a strong understanding of the end-to-end lifecycle from concept to production.
• Solid understanding of backend architecture principles, including microservices, API design, and scalability considerations, coupled with best practices in AI application design.
• Proven experience working with RESTful APIs, including designing, developing, and integrating with third-party services effectively.
• Strong understanding of database technologies, including relational databases (SQL) and potentially NoSQL solutions, with experience in schema design, query optimization, and data management.
• Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and strong communication and collaboration abilities.
