📋 Description

• Conduct credit risk reviews for Airwallex clients during onboarding and ongoing monitoring, evaluating business information and financial statements to assess merchant credibility.
• Provide tailored credit risk recommendations that balance mitigating Airwallex’s exposure with enabling partner business growth.
• Prioritize and process incoming merchant applications, verifying accuracy and integrity, interpreting data concisely, ensuring policy compliance, and registering information accurately and timely.
• Deliver actionable insights to support key business decisions including onboarding strategies, pricing analysis, and product launches.
• Lead process improvements to enhance team performance, meet key performance indicators, and adhere to service level agreements.
• Provide feedback on data quality, internal tools, and third-party vendors to drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement of policies and procedures.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with merchants, business development teams, transaction risk analysts, compliance, and legal departments to align risk management with growth objectives.
• Analyze complex financial data and transaction patterns to identify risk indicators and support underwriting decisions.
• Apply knowledge of commercial credit underwriting, financial statement analysis, and cash flow forecasting to evaluate merchant risk profiles.
• Maintain awareness of merchant acquiring services and payment processing industry standards to inform risk assessments.
• Utilize SQL to extract, analyze, and interpret data for risk modeling and operational reporting, where applicable.
• Operate with a proactive, self-driven mindset in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating urgency, curiosity, and bias for action.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure clarity and alignment on risk decisions.
• Contribute to a culture of collaboration, humility, and end-to-end ownership, turning ideas into actionable outcomes.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance analytical speed and decision-making accuracy while maintaining rigorous risk controls.

🎯 Requirements

• 5 years of relevant experience in commercial credit underwriting, financial statement analysis, and cash flow forecasting
• Knowledge of merchant acquiring services and the payment processing industry
• Effective communication skills with strong attention to detail
• Comfort working with complex data and analytics; understanding of SQL is preferred
• Proactive self-starter with a sense of urgency and bias for action in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, both written and verbal
