  • • Lambda Inc., a trailblazer in AI cloud infrastructure, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Associate - Technical Accounting to join our dynamic finance team. As a leader serving tens of thousands of customers, from cutting-edge AI researchers to large enterprises and hyperscalers, Lambda is on a mission to democratize superintelligence by making compute as accessible as electricity. This role is pivotal in ensuring our financial reporting and accounting practices are robust, compliant, and ready for our next phase of growth, including potential public company readiness.
  • • In this critical role, you will be at the forefront of technical accounting research, meticulously analyzing complex and non-routine transactions. Your expertise will be essential in preparing comprehensive memos that clearly articulate accounting positions in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). You will delve into the accounting implications of significant financial events, including but not limited to revenue recognition, complex equity structures, debt instruments, business combinations, lease accounting, and stock-based compensation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • • A key aspect of your responsibility will involve close cross-functional collaboration. You will partner strategically with departments such as Legal, Tax, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), and Treasury. This partnership is crucial for assessing the accounting impacts of proposed business initiatives and providing timely, actionable guidance to stakeholders *before* transactions are executed, thereby mitigating financial risks and ensuring optimal accounting treatment.
  • • You will play an instrumental role in developing and maintaining the company's accounting policies. This includes proactively evaluating and implementing new guidance issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Your efforts will be vital in preparing Lambda for the rigorous demands of public company reporting and compliance.
  • • Supporting our ambitious IPO readiness efforts will be a significant focus. You will contribute directly to drafting technical disclosures, assisting in the preparation of critical filings such as the S-1 and 10-K, and enhancing the overall presentation of our financial statements to meet public company standards. This requires a deep understanding of SEC regulations and reporting requirements.
  • • Furthermore, you will actively participate in the preparation of consolidated financial statements and their accompanying footnotes. Your review of reporting packages will ensure the highest levels of accuracy and adherence to SEC compliance, underpinning the integrity of our financial reporting.
  • • The role also involves supporting external audits and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) readiness. This includes preparing detailed documentation, strengthening internal controls, and identifying opportunities to improve our month-end and year-end close processes, as well as our overall reporting procedures.
  • • As Lambda continues its rapid expansion, you will contribute to strategic initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A), system implementations, and other growth-oriented projects. Your accounting expertise will be invaluable in navigating these complex undertakings and ensuring their financial success.
  • • This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You should possess strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex accounting concepts into practical, business-oriented recommendations. A commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of evolving accounting standards is essential for success in this role.
  • • The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in technical accounting, capable of driving best practices and contributing to the financial health and integrity of a leading AI infrastructure company. Your work will directly impact our ability to scale, innovate, and achieve our ambitious goals.
