📋 Description

• • Own end-to-end architecture for high-impact products that reach millions of FOX viewers daily across FOX News, FOX Sports, Tubi and more. You will be the technical anchor for a functional area, translating bold product visions into scalable, secure and resilient backend services.
• • Design and deliver distributed systems from whiteboard to production. Under senior guidance you will author high-level designs, then independently drive low-level design and implementation across multiple technology components—ranging from real-time data ingestion to low-latency APIs that power live sports and breaking news.
• • Champion code quality and engineering excellence. Conduct rigorous code and design reviews, enforce unit/integration test coverage above 80 %, and maintain exhaustive technical documentation so any engineer can onboard in hours, not weeks.
• • Mentor and level-up junior engineers through pair programming, architecture walkthroughs and career coaching. Build a culture where the best idea wins—regardless of title—and where knowledge sharing is the default.
• • Collaborate daily with cross-functional squads of frontend engineers, product managers, designers and data scientists. Balance engineering elegance with pragmatic delivery, ensuring every sprint ships measurable business value.
• • Make deliberate technology choices that anticipate non-functional requirements: reliability (99.9 % uptime), horizontal scalability to 10× traffic spikes during major sporting events, and sub-second latency for real-time experiences.
• • Embed security and privacy by design. Implement OAuth2, end-to-end encryption and zero-trust patterns from day one, ensuring every system passes FOX’s stringent infosec audits and complies with global data-protection regulations.
• • Drive continuous integration and deployment excellence. Own GitHub Actions pipelines, automated canary releases and blue-green deployments so new features reach users safely and rapidly—often multiple times per day.
• • Contribute to the evolution of FOX’s cloud-native platform on AWS and GCP. Leverage Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Pulumi) to spin up ephemeral environments for experimentation while controlling cost and carbon footprint.
• • Explore emerging tech frontiers—blockchain for fan tokens, generative-AI for personalized highlight reels, machine-learning models for real-time ad-insertion—and prototype solutions that could redefine how audiences interact with content.
• • Instrument everything. Design observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) that surface actionable insights, enabling proactive issue resolution before viewers ever notice.
• • Document tribal knowledge in living architecture decision records (ADRs) and run internal tech talks that turn lessons learned into institutional wisdom.
• • Participate in an agile, remote-first culture that values deep work, asynchronous communication and outcome-oriented metrics. Your impact will be measured by user engagement, system resilience and team growth—not lines of code.
