• As a Senior Backend Engineer (Java), you will be an integral part of our inspired, customer-focused engineering community. You will contribute to crafting innovative solutions that are actively redefining our industry. Our robust infrastructure is built using cutting-edge tools like Kubernetes and Docker, providing an exciting environment for infrastructure-focused engineers.
• We operate in a data-rich environment, making critical business decisions based on the vast streams of data we receive daily. This means you'll be working with big data, performing in-depth data analytics, and building sophisticated models to extract meaningful insights from complex information, ultimately enhancing the customer experience.
• Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Designers, and Quality Assurance Engineers. Together, you will conceptualize, design, and deliver high-impact features that drive business value and improve user satisfaction.
• You will architect, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services, leveraging your deep expertise in Java and the Spring Boot framework. The focus will be on building robust, reliable, and efficient systems that can handle significant transaction volumes and user loads.
• A key aspect of this role involves producing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. We emphasize a strong commitment to reliability, testability, and adherence to engineering best practices, ensuring the long-term health and scalability of our codebase.
• You will be responsible for seamlessly integrating various third-party services and APIs into our platform. This includes implementing robust error handling mechanisms and designing for graceful degradation to ensure uninterrupted service even in the face of external system issues.
• Continuous improvement is at the core of our engineering philosophy. You will actively work on enhancing system performance and optimizing the developer experience through thoughtful automation strategies and strategic refactoring of existing code and systems.
• This role demands strong problem-solving skills. You will be expected to diagnose and resolve complex issues across the entire technology stack. Furthermore, you will proactively identify opportunities for technical improvements and implement solutions to prevent future occurrences.
• As a senior member of the team, you will actively participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and sharing your knowledge. You will also contribute significantly to architecture discussions, helping to shape the technical direction of our platform and promoting engineering best practices across the entire team.
• Maintaining clear and comprehensive documentation of technical decisions, system designs, and operational processes is crucial. This ensures transparency, facilitates knowledge sharing, and supports the long-term scalability and maintainability of our systems.
• You will be working with a modern tech stack that includes the latest versions of Java, Spring & Spring Boot for microservices, Docker & Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration, PostgreSQL & DynamoDB for data persistence, Elasticsearch for powerful search capabilities, and AWS Cloud Infrastructure for scalable and highly available deployments.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of hands-on professional experience in software engineering, with a strong emphasis on backend development using Java and Spring Boot.
• Proven experience designing, building, and scaling web services, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate).
• Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting abilities, with a structured approach to problem-solving.
