• • Are you a seasoned security professional with a passion for building robust, secure systems from the ground up? AlphaSense, a leader in AI-driven market intelligence, is seeking a Senior Business Applications Security Engineer to join our dynamic Corporate Technology team in Bengaluru. This is a unique opportunity to architect and implement a comprehensive security program for our entire business application ecosystem, moving beyond a reactive stance to establish a centralized, proactive, and hardened security framework.
• • In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in transforming how AlphaSense approaches application security. You will take full ownership of the security posture across our diverse landscape of over 200 business applications, encompassing SaaS, cloud, and on-premise solutions. This is not a role focused on maintaining existing systems; it's a chance to define and build security standards where they may not yet exist, ensuring every tool aligns with our stringent security requirements.
• • Your primary mission will be to bridge the gap between evolving business needs and secure cloud-based software solutions. This involves not only implementing and optimizing security controls but also effectively managing vendor relationships and ensuring compliance. You will be the architect of our business application security, establishing the benchmark for what constitutes a secure application within AlphaSense and driving adherence to these standards across the organization.
• • A key aspect of this role is the 'shift-left' security philosophy. You will proactively embed security considerations into the entire lifecycle of our business applications, from the initial procurement and vendor selection process through integration, ongoing management, and eventual decommissioning. This proactive approach aims to mitigate risks before they materialize, fostering a more resilient and secure technology environment.
• • You will be a change agent, collaborating closely with a wide array of stakeholders. This includes partnering with teams across IT, Engineering, Finance, HR, Sales, and Marketing to fundamentally influence and elevate the organization's understanding and prioritization of application security. Your ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical audiences will be crucial in driving this cultural shift.
• • Key responsibilities will include designing and scaling user access through robust role-based access controls (RBAC) wherever feasible. You will provide critical technical support and troubleshooting for application access and role-related issues, acting as a subject matter expert.
• • The onboarding of new applications will be a significant part of your remit. This involves conducting thorough requirements discovery and analysis with key stakeholders, with a particular focus on secure login protocols and role access management. You will also be responsible for designing and implementing automated solutions for identity lifecycle management, ensuring that access is granted and revoked automatically and efficiently, thereby reducing manual errors and security gaps.
• • Integration management is another core function, where you will oversee API connections and ensure secure data flow between various business applications within our technology stack. Identifying and implementing process improvements and automation opportunities to streamline workflows will be essential for enhancing efficiency and security.
