📋 Description

• Senior Complex Desk Adjuster responsible for investigating and managing complex general liability claims, determining liability, securing information, reviewing coverages, arranging appraisals, and settling claims across BOP, Commercial General Liability, and Farm/Ranch lines.
• Day-to-day activities include contacting insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, and other parties to investigate claim origins and causes, evaluating damages, negotiating settlements, responding to customer inquiries, and closing files appropriately.
• Works within American Family Mutual Insurance Company’s claims team, serving as a mentor and subject matter expert for less experienced adjusters while handling a claim mix averaging 60% property damage and 40% bodily injury, primarily in midwestern states.
• Opportunity to develop deep expertise in complex casualty and general liability claims, exercise independent judgment, and grow as a leader by guiding junior staff and contributing to process improvements.

🎯 Requirements

• Demonstrated experience handling third-party, multi-line general liability claims.
• Extensive knowledge of insurance policies, endorsements, and the full claim handling process from investigation to settlement.
• State-specific claims licensing as required for the assigned work location.
• Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and self-supervise most files while knowing when to seek assistance.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with insureds, claimants, attorneys, contractors, and other stakeholders.
