Ltd., a fully remote role based in Europe, responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing the core telecommunications infrastructure that enables seamless global eSIM connectivity for over 20 million travellers across 200+ countries and regions. This role is critical to ensuring instant, reliable, and secure network access from purchase to destination, directly supporting Airalo’s mission as the world’s first and largest eSIM store.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include architecting and managing Home Location Register (HLR), Home Subscriber Server (HSS), and Subscription Data Management (SDM) systems; troubleshooting complex signaling protocols (Diameter, SS7, SIP); optimizing network performance and latency for global roaming scenarios; collaborating with product and engineering teams to translate ambitious connectivity features into scalable network solutions; conducting reverse-engineering of legacy telecom systems to enable innovative eSIM provisioning; monitoring network health and implementing automated remediation for service degradation; participating in on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 network reliability; contributing to technical documentation and knowledge sharing across the fully remote Networks team.

Operating with high autonomy and a customer-first mindset, the team owns end-to-end network performance and reliability, working closely with product, DevOps, and security teams to deliver seamless experiences for international travellers. Airalo’s culture emphasizes ownership, experimentation, and real-world impact, where engineers are encouraged to think beyond traditional telecom boundaries and build systems that scale with global demand.

You will have the opportunity to influence the design of next-generation connectivity platforms, work at the intersection of telecom and internet-scale systems, and contribute to Airalo’s expansion as a trusted global connectivity partner — all while developing leadership skills in a fast-growing, mission-driven startup environment.
