📋 Description
- • Design and build a scalable reporting data architecture using BigQuery, structuring datasets, tables, and views to support multi-account, multi-venue, and multi-tier subscription analytics for a SaaS platform.
- • Build and manage ETL/ELT ingestion pipelines from disparate data sources including APIs, webhooks, scheduled syncs, and custom scripts to consolidate data into a unified reporting foundation.
- • Set up and maintain data exports from GA4 to BigQuery, ensuring clean data relationships across accounts, venues, campaigns, and subscription tiers for accurate reporting.
- • Integrate diverse data streams from Google Tag Manager, CMS platforms (e.g., Sanity CMS), email and SMS marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp), receipt validation services, and POS systems into the central data warehouse.
- • Create clean, reusable SQL models to transform raw behavioral and business metadata into reporting-ready datasets optimized for client-facing analytics.
- • Prepare foundational data models to power automated dashboards and client-facing business intelligence tools such as Looker Studio, Looker Studio Pro, AgencyAnalytics, Databox, or DashThis.
- • Establish comprehensive data quality assurance processes including validation checks, anomaly detection, and continuous monitoring of pipeline reliability and data accuracy.
- • Maintain detailed documentation for data schemas, transformation logic, event taxonomies, data flows, and reporting rules to ensure team-wide clarity and auditability.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to ensure proper implementation of tracking events and adherence to privacy-conscious data practices.
- • Support the transition from manual dashboard creation to a fully automated, scalable reporting system capable of serving multiple client accounts and venue locations simultaneously.
- • Define and implement GA4 event taxonomies and configure Google Tag Manager to capture key user interactions and campaign metrics accurately.
- • Ensure data models are structured to enable future expansion of analytics capabilities, including client-specific custom reporting and white-label BI integrations.
- • Proactively identify data gaps, inconsistencies, or inefficiencies in existing pipelines and implement improvements to enhance data integrity and system performance.
- • Work within a remote, global team environment to deliver high-impact analytics infrastructure for U.S.-based hospitality and retail technology clients.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, product analytics, or data analysis
- • Demonstrated, hands-on experience building a data warehouse or reporting database entirely from scratch
- • Strong proficiency in SQL and extensive experience structuring and managing BigQuery
- • Proven ability to build, manage, and scale ETL or ELT data pipelines
- • Deep understanding of event-based analytics and direct experience with GA4 to BigQuery exports
- • Expertise in data modeling for analytics and the ability to create reporting-ready datasets for BI tools
