📋 Description

• Senior Data Engineer role focused on owning and evolving Pixaera’s core data platform, including warehouse design, production pipelines, and data reliability to power analytics, product intelligence, and personalized learning experiences for frontline worker safety.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include managing the Snowflake-based data warehouse and dbt transformation layer, refactoring admin API data flows to reduce technical debt, building and maintaining AWS-based production pipelines using Python and SQL with observability and testing, and partnering with backend engineers to ensure clean data is exposed at the source.
• The role sits within the engineering team as a data specialist, bridging product and engineering to deliver data for customer outcomes and contributing to backend feature work where data and product intersect, such as telemetry and instrumentation.
• The engineer will learn to scale data systems in a fast-moving startup environment, strengthen end-to-end data ownership, and improve system integrity by reducing technical debt while working with modern tools like Snowflake, DBT, and AWS in a mission-driven culture focused on safety readiness for high-risk industries.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in a data engineering role, ideally including time at a B2B SaaS or product startup
• Strong Python and SQL fundamentals
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating data pipelines in production on AWS
• Experience with a modern warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift) with depth in at least one
• Hands-on experience with DBT or equivalent transformation framework
• Backend engineering fluency to read and contribute to backend code for fixing data issues at source
