📋 Description

• As a Senior Data Engineer at DraftKings, you will build real-time data capabilities that power analytics, reporting, and intelligent experiences across the platform, enabling smarter decisions and AI-powered innovation.
• You will design and scale modern data infrastructure, develop real-time and batch data pipelines using Kafka, Databricks, and Snowflake, and build AI-powered data experiences that allow teammates to explore data via natural language and autonomous workflows.
• You will work within a forward-thinking Engineering team at DraftKings, a publicly traded gaming technology company headquartered in Boston, where AI is central to enhancing customer experiences and streamlining operations.
• You will deepen your expertise in modern data engineering practices, mentor teammates, shape the future of data architecture, and contribute to AI-driven workflows that accelerate innovation across the business.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience.
• At least 3 years of experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable data platforms and distributed data systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with Python and SQL, including building real-time data streaming solutions.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Kafka, and modern cloud-based data platforms, preferably on AWS, with familiarity in Terraform, PagerDuty, and Datadog.
• Deep understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, ETL frameworks, and modern data modeling techniques such as Star Schema and Data Vault.
• Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB) and familiarity with BI tools like Sigma is a plus.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted engineering tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex) to build agents and automate workflows.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with ability to mentor teammates and thrive in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
