- • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of DailyPay’s enterprise data governance framework to ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual security and privacy requirements across the data lifecycle.
- • Collaborate with data stewards and cross-functional teams to establish scalable data governance capabilities, including defining data standards, creating authoritative data definitions, and developing training materials for stakeholders.
- • Execute core data governance processes such as data profiling, enforcement of data quality rules, and cataloging data assets to ensure accurate lineage tracking and metadata integrity.
- • Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for data governance platform technologies, overseeing configuration, user access, and system enhancements.
- • Partner with enterprise architecture teams to integrate data governance requirements into the design of new data management systems and services.
- • Communicate complex data architecture concepts and business requirements clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including Business Analysts, Data Scientists, and executive leadership.
- • Develop and maintain documentation for data dictionaries, data lineage maps, and governance policies to improve enterprise-wide understanding and adoption of data management practices.
- • Establish metrics and reporting mechanisms to track the effectiveness of data governance initiatives and demonstrate progress toward compliance and data quality goals.
- • Work closely with IT, Legal, Privacy, Security, Compliance, and Engineering teams to define and align on data governance requirements, risk mitigation strategies, and control frameworks.
- • Implement and monitor PII discovery methodologies to identify, classify, and protect sensitive personal data in alignment with privacy regulations such as GLBA, CCPA, and GDPR.
- • Ensure enterprise-wide data currency, accuracy, precision, retention policies, and security controls are consistently applied across all data systems and platforms.
- • Leverage technical literacy in SQL/NoSQL databases, cloud data services (AWS, Azure, GCP), and distributed systems (e.g., Spark, Kafka) to navigate data environments, run queries, and collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
- • Utilize modern data/BI tools and version control workflows to support observability and alerting, acting as the key liaison to identify data inconsistencies and drive remediation.
- • Influence strategic decisions by bridging business needs with technical realities, confidently challenging executive expectations when requirements conflict with governance best practices.
- • Promote a culture of data accountability and operational excellence through education, advocacy, and transparent communication across all levels of the organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of Data Governance experience within a regulated industry such as fintech, payments, banking, or healthcare
- • Knowledge of data-related regulatory requirements including GLBA, CCPA, or GDPR and practical experience implementing privacy compliance
- • Solid conceptual understanding of modern data architecture including SQL/NoSQL databases, cloud data services (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and distributed systems (e.g., Spark, Kafka)
- • Strong communication and presentation skills with a proven ability to influence high-level stakeholders (VP and above)
- • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Science, Information Management, or equivalent
- • Broad awareness of modern data/BI tools, version control workflows, and observability/alerting platforms
